I was just curious as to what the reasoning was behind the high mana cost of shadow form. It kills our DPS to not be in form, and we cannot heal while in it. Those penalties alone should grant a low mana cost on that spell. I dont believe it should be a free spell, but it should be on par with a Druid as far as mana cost.
Druid Tree of Life - 28% of base mana + 30% reduced mana cost from Natural Shapeshifter.
3496 x .28% = 978.88 (.70) = 685.219 mana
Priest Shadow Form - 32% of base mana + 6% reduced mana cost from Shadow Focus.
3863 x .32% = 1236.16 (.94) = 1161.9904 mana
The start numbers are the class base mana from http://www.wowwiki.com/Base_Mana
As you can see, Druid tree of life form is nearly half that of a Priests shadow form. Why?
I posted this on the wow forums, and figured i would post it here as well. I might get a quicker answer here.
