    lich king 10 man heroic, frostmourne load screen pauses causing wipes :(

    ok, not sure where to have put this post, so............
    we been doing lich king heroic for the last few weeks for 2 nights a week (currently on our 7 night on him)... we get the first few phases done perfect until it comes to the frostmourne bit... we can survive inside it no probs but 5 times in a row now a few random members have been delayed (loading screens i think) coming back out of it and a nasty defile pops where they stood even tho they cant see it yet or move and it wipes us weve got to 21% 5 times now and this has happened on each occasion to random members, we so close to killing the git and then this happens lol,,, is anyone else experiencing this or is there anyway to avoid this i.e settings or what not... cheers

    Should there even be a loading screen when you jump between the rooms?

    pass, but each time we get to that bit now some are taking a lil while to come out then its a wipe

    There is a loadingscreen, but it loads so fast that most people never see it. Since the last patch I've encountered this too, although it hasn't wiped us. And it seems to only happen on heroic for me.

    You could try lowering your settings to low graphics, and play in fullscreen if you're not doing that already. This should greatly reduce lag and any loading times. You can also tell your guild to disable any addons that aren't necessary for that fight

    yea 3 times last night it did it, and a couple of times the other night lol, but its not the same person either otherwise we could put it down to their pc or internet maybe... kinda frustrating a bit as we got him nailed methinks... but also the RNG on that bit can be luck or no luck in where it pops defile etc,, we'll keep at it tho, but was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen

    Well, can't help you much then, sorry! My guess would be instance server lag, the last patch messed something about that up a bit, I think.

    I've experienced something similar to this.. The screen doesn't really freeze but when our raid group has left the Frostmourne room and we're back on the Throne platform, it takes 6-7 seconds for players to load. Sometimes it causes problems with Defile on 25 Heroic, haven't had chance to try 10 Heroic again although I will this week since I've started my own 10 man guild ^^ should be fun.

    yea was thinking its possibly server lag based,, anyway cheers, we'll get it im sure
    but yea a few who made it out could see one or two peeps just stood there in defile etc,, but the people who were stood there said all they could see was frostmourne the one moment and then a room full of defile lol

    When you load after coming in/out of the room, it does take a while for your other raid members to appear.

    We managed to get it down after about 3 hours last night (last time we tried was a good few months ago), only trouble we had on the throne room was the first one of the night with a defile right after.

    Remember to all group up in the middle as soon as you spawn in, then follow your assigned leader (we used the circle mark). When you get out, immediately the whole raid should spread, the defile will be <5 seconds after.

    This is easily manageable. You can still move when you come out, even though you can't see your character. If you're wiping to defile out of the frostmourne room, then your raiders aren't spreading out fast enough. Tell them to move, regardless of whether or not they can actually see what they're doing.

    The only issue i had was LK not rendering in when I came out,

    It used to be if you shielded the person who was standing in it they didn't spread the defile, does that still work?

    yup, the folks who were delayed/stuck tried runnin away as a rule of thumb ready for defile, but it still wiped us 3 times in a row last night
    we trying again on wednesday tho so if it happens again we'll make a ticket n chat with blizz i spose, see what they gotta say aboot it
    and shielding slows the defile spread a lil, but not if ya stood in it

    Only problems we have had is the lich king and other players not loading for certain players (typically higher ping players) but as long as they can still run away from an invisible defile its not been a real problem.

    I haven't experienced this issue, but we had issues with people not being able to see the rest of the raid when they first zoned in, making it harder to group up. We also had an issue where one of our raid members did not get teleported to the room and was killed outside, and then after he died he was ported to the Frostmourne room.

    Yea, it happens for me. It's not that it's slow loading, but that I can't see people when I come out. It happens like 1/2 the time.

    Really though, just tell people to keep running for a few seconds after defile and it should be fine. I think it wiped us once when a defile got dropped under ~8 people. but it hasnt been a problem in 25.

    Another thing you could consider is assigning people to different directions if it still causes trouble for you.

    These "load screen pauses" almost wiped us on our second 25HC-kill, but inside the Frostmourne room. Most of us couldn't see the marked raid leader at first, inside the Frostmourne-room. There was some miscommunication and I think 16-18 people died. I, and the ~4 other dpsers that survived had to work like * to dps down the last three percent that we had left, since the few healers we had left had a hard time keeping the tank up, plus there were vile spirits as our soaker died.

    Anyhow, ontopic. As people have said, spread when you get back out. Just keep running and turn around as soon as you see where defile has landed. In 10m you should have no problems with the enrage timer, so play it safe.

    ok, lil update..... dunno whether the patch fixed a few lil things but as promised we got back on to him last night and nobody had any lag or anything whatsoever and we managed to kill him on our 3rd try of the evening think that makes us the only 10 man guild on our realm (or maybe just horde side,, ill have to check) to have killed him ,,, thanks for the replies tho, we changed settings n disabled addons too as usual just incase....... what an epic fight tho

    There is definite lag when entering/leaving Frostmourne.
    Never had it cause a wipe, but on 25 man there can be a good 1 second delay before everyone becomes active on my Grid. It doesn't sound like much but it is.

    We now make sure tanks pop cooldowns a couple of seconds before leaving the room in case healers are delayed in getting out.
