I loved my Paladin in classic. But I was a clueless idiot basically brand new to MMOs who was astonished by such amazing features as bright colors, each new piece of gear looking different than the last, and reaching level 30 solo! So my glee should probably be interpreted appropriately.

I thought it was the coolest thing in the entire world that I selected a Seal first, and then unleashed it with Judgment. Somehow this was very complex and exciting to me and I looked forward to logging in every time so I could run around Judging things. I constantly changed my Seal to try to adapt to every new situation, feeling very clever.

I also thought being able to Bless everyone with a wide variety of buffs was just too cool for words and would ensure that anyone and everyone within a 100 yard radius had a blessing from me at all times.

I would frequently stop and reapply my Aura just to see the little ground animation and sound again, because, of course, Auras were the coolest thing in the world.

When I conquered a group of four murlocs at one time by healing myself, I felt like some sort of incredible Machiavellian mastermind. I think I spent a good 45 minutes carefully deciding where to put my first talent point, settling on Holy so I could perform even bigger murloc-defying miracles with my imagined thermonuclear super-heals.

Bringing 8 pallies to MC so that every group could have an aura. 5 min blessings. Having 1 ret pally solely for kings (it was the 31 pt talent). Basically being an aura totem and a cleanse/decursive spambot. Ya, no thanks!

Heh, I never played back in vanilla. I love my paladin today, but this sounds horrible.

Just check out Zalgradis pvp movies for all your vanilla paladin pleasures.

for raids i was pretty much a dedicated cleanse bot. decursive + cleanse = zzz.
cant count the amount of times i fell asleep during the cleanse-fests that were mc and bwl. Fights like sulfuron and chromaggus made me want to /wrists.
when there was nothing to cleanse i'd toss around the occasional heal and judgement.

PvP i was easily the most annoying guy to kill. No forbearance, no mass dispel, no shattering throws. I'd just play the outlast game and usually whoever was trying to kill me would give up in frustration or their mates would arrive and eventually take me out. In saying that, I don't think I ever killed anyone. Ever.

so yeah, best left forgotten lol

I never got my paladin to 60... I fizzled out in the mid-40s and didn't touch it again until midway through BC. Here's what I remember:

    Auto swing.
    3 second later.
    Auto swing.
    3 seconds later.
    Auto swing.
    ...
    5 minutes later.
    Loot.

    Repeat.

Decided to go for Grand Marshal when reckoning bomb was still a viable spec i would sit down charge 5 and 1 shot people it was amazing. Got Grand Marshal and enjoyed my weapons for about 2 weeks then i got hacked, never to see my paladin again. Sad times man sad times, me and my brother were both GM Paladins he become E-famous on our server i was forgotten haha.

I rolled a paladin Day 1, I fell in love Day 1, I've been in love since.

There has always been something about the class that has been so alluring and so enduring for me that I keep getting dragged back. I love the class, and I Love Ret a lot.

Vanilla has some of my best and most fond memories of WoW, which I played both my Paladin, and my Shaman the way through. I double raided for a few months, which was brutal but a lot of fun, and gave me much fulfillment on 2 characters.

It's funny, I chose two specs in Vanilla, Ret and Elemental, and even until this day these are the only 2 specs I truly care about. I've recently become fond of Feral, but honestly, I know I can and will always count on Ret to be my main source of fun in this game.

Even through the good times and bad, I've found persistence to be the key to being able to raid through it all as Ret.
-Retribution, the path of the protector or mender brought to it's natural conclusion; destroying evil before the weak need to be shielded from it, and before it can wound the innocent.

We gonna wipe take x oofc.

Tried to level 3 pallies in classic and bc, deleted them all before they reached level 25. Just made a pally in late wotlk for serious use of it (was my gathering slave with fastest riding + aura and two gathering professions)

I just got fond memories of beta when the paladin seal was bugged, can't for the life of me remember the name of it atm. But increased attack power + increased attack speed, hell yeah!!

I didn't play a paladin myself during vanilla, but as a raid leader I do remember all the pain they went through. Constantly rebuffing, only good for a single role in the raid (just like druids, sob) and in general looked down upon by all other healers since they were less gear dependant. I still remember when a paladin in our guild got that trinket off chromaggus (At least I think it was him?) and the priests and druids were outraged, paladins don't need gear!

You're thinking of Seal of the Crusader. That seal was my favorite vanillla seal beause (besides being incredibly effective) it was reliable. Back then, even SoR was a random proc!

best thing i can remember is killing a rogue in t2 gear with blues and the epic sword from Ubrs with 2 reckoning bombs
    Pity Heal
    Unlimited range
    Channeled
Baron Ashbury has pity on you, but only so he can continue inflicting pain! Heals all nearby enemies and allies for 5% health every 1 sec.

my pre bc pally story includes 2 druids as well.

so pre bc i was horde on illidan and let me tell you in those days people were nice people were respectfull. you asked in trade where do i turn this quest in. you didnt get an anal joke or a noob look it up. you had 4 people message you with map coords. but back to the story there was this alliance pally called ironicly enough "superpally" and he always had 2 feral druids with them their names i dont remember. but i remember the days of queuein for pvp in the honor hut and this superpally would taunt you behind the hut then boom 2 feral druids jump you. though this isnt what made him the superpally. of course back in these days we had server only pvp so in ab we knew everyone that was a real player and they knew us. now i would troll around with darkside and crystal i was delcor and we would run into superpally and like clockwork the aq40 meteor trinket would go off. every time i fought him i had a meteor hit me in the face now i know this isnt that special but i just always think about it when i think of old school pvp that dang meteor hitting me in the face. and now everytime a lock throws their meteor down i cant help but say freaking superpally
