Thumbs up DC Universe - RELEASED!

Anyone playing it?! i myself am, and very much enjoy it, on a scale of 10 - i would rate it 11.

    It's somewhat something new.

Walk on walls (Think the flash) Jump on high buildings (Think Batman or spiderman) Fly (Think superman and Lex)

Grab items and throw it at people.

Quests that are very fun, and not boring. for example, Activate this specific item to blow the whole room of mobs that pretty much outnumber you in thousands, grab the paper, You will be on timer, and run away before more of these monsters come.

Has enough of end-game - more will be added soon. (From Raids) to (Dungeons 4 players) but let's not forget.. something new, a 2 PLAYER Dungeon! you and ur friend could test your skills on them

Lots of Loots to make your character more powerful.

Talent trees made for your 1) Weapons 2) Power 3) Movement

Share ur thoughts ONLY if you tried/played this game.

And please, rate it on a scale of 10!

I would rate it a 9. The character creation could use some work - I've encountered quite a few bugs to go along with it. Combat is intense and the questing is fantastic. I have yet to see any two villains/heroes the same, sides from the few who stick with the Superman template.

How is character customization? Is it as good as CoH or Champions Online?

I'm sitting here wondering if i should buy this.. Can't make up my mind since there aren't any good reviews out yet so I'm kinda depending on you guys to help me out whether or not I should get this..

Watching the videos it looks both good and bad, I mean who doesn't want to be a superhero? But then again I have this feeling if i buy this I'll end up having spent money on a MMO that was dead from the start like vanguard, aion, etc was for me atleast.

Depending on your stance of him, total biscuit has done about 6 or 7 videos of the early game content and as far as i know plans to do more and is worthwhile checking out if you haven't made up your mind yet.

I myself am very keen on this game, with my only concern being whether the endgame could match something like, WoW's endgame. I think they are giving a months free game time though so ill be picking it up to check it out

okay decided to buy it and im optimistic apart from SOE's account management being a steaming pile of user unfriendly crap, and them not really doing anything to have a set release date in the EU and only means of getting this game is a D2D download, I'm quite optimistic about this even though I'm sure it won't be a "wow-killer" or anything of the likes it looks like it's good entertainment

Wait until you actually are done with all the missions, which will only take about 10 hours if you take your time.

Would be nice to try out a different MMO other than WoW for once.

Would you say it is more like City of Heroes or Champions Online?

5/12.1 GB and going ZzzZ I'll let you know once i get there xD

Looks pretty good for the most part. About up to standard with how much CoH and CO have, and as TB says they all look great together.

I've been looking into buying this game being a huge fan of the dc universe.

Could anyone tell me if there's any type of story mode in the game? I recall it being released on the PS3 so surely there must be one

  13. #13
not to sure apart from the quests i hear you aid superman and/or other superhero dudes in spanking lex luther etc. Not sure if it plays in with some kind of story..

looks like its just a CoH remake, with the names of the classic superheroes. it looks to be a waste of money from what ive seen.
    Scrapbot Was Here.
I was asked a simple question in school today; 3 men walk into a bar, 1 orders a Margarita, 1 orders a Screwdriver, and the third orders the largest glass of Guinness he could get. Which on is gay?
My answer: The one who bought the Guinness because he gave it to me.
my teacher looked at my answer and laughed. i got bonus points because of it.

It's not like CoH or City of Heroes or whatever the name is called, its 100% different - the only thing they share is 'super heroes' which DC universe just officially DESTROYED ALL hero games.

Graphic wise, Content wise, new things wise, and everything i could think of.

You could design ur own super heroes with THOUSANDS of items, yes thousands, no not hundreds but thousands.

Just because its another super hero game doesn't mean its like all others

I'm really impressed of SOE - i used to be a hater back then, but ever since this game was released, i became a fan of them, they actually fixed their problems about the past - people change you know.....?

Plus this game has been out WAY before CoH - it has been in dev for about 5 years, 6 if you count 2011. which is a good thing.

If your a fan of super heroes and Villains - i HIGHLY Suggest you buying this game, it's not like any ordinary game that you have played before - its 100% new, fresh, and leveling doesn't take 10 hours. It depends on how pro you are, this is one of the games that are Skill>GEAR

    And when i mean skill, i mean S K I L L

Plus, you can meet all your DC universe super heroes or villains - even the classic ones are making a comeback in this game - expansions will be released just like WoW - a 1 evil boss holds the whole expansion, for the first one. is brainiac. He is the true villain of DC Universe for now.

As for end-content, it DOES have lots of it, with every dungeons and raids, i'm pretty sure you will have fun.

You can grab a car - Your friend who is specced as fire could burn that car - making the car hit harder - you throw the car at someone - BAM it crits for 100000000000.

And also, this game requires crowd control, if your fan of that.

Plus, who doesn't like a game with guns and arrows?! LASER PEW PEW PEW here it goes!

As for lore geeks - every character in DC universe has a lore behind them, including YOU. You can make your own lore about your character. Another good thing about this game is You can name ur characters like this "The Black Devil" or "Mr Smarty" with space, something that wow lacks. learn from this, WoW.

So, OP, you don't think that making the ridiculous(and asinine, actually) request that only people that have tried the game make any comments? You don't think that trying to restrict it to people that have already shown a certain level of attraction to the game wouldn't skew the discussion?

DC Universe will be just another failed starter like all those before it. Whether it's "just another superhero game" or not, there hasn't been nearly enough done to disprove that generalization and so in the eye of the public it may as well be fact.
Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

The character creation is pretty good. Like 8/10.

BUT, since a part of the entire project of the game is to create a new superhero i dont think it's customisable enough. The idea of the game is to create your own hero/villian.

You cannot customise the actual gear. You can pick your clothing, skin (as in skin type: Robot body, human etc) hats, glasses etc. And you can customise collor. But you cant create your own piece of clothing. If i make a hero i MUST choose one of the designed legs, i cannot undo buttons on my shirt or change the design on my pants. All i can do is pick one and then customise my own collor.

The character customisation simply does not deliver what you would expect when the developers have in mind that you make a name for yourself and make your own brand new superhero.

Also allot of the hairstyles and the hats are clipping, as in the hair goes trough the hat.

    In WOW's defense.

DC universe is a game about superheroes. None or very few superheroes are given ordinary names, most of them have names that gives a little representation about them. A few examples are: Wonder woman, The flash and Green arrow. Having a space between is simply required for some users who want to have their name as. What/who they are or what title they got.

In WOW it's a different story, Blizzard wants you to put down your characters actual NAME. You come up with your own name for your characters instead of a ''Title name''. Calling yourself Mr Smarty as a superhero is actually reasonable because of RPing. Calling yourself Mr Smarty in WOW makes no sense, there is no hidden identity issue etc etc for RP purposes. Thus having spaces between names in WOW is uneccesary.
Your greed, your foolishness has brought you to this end.
