    End of ze world!

    So, watching original Terminator, the machines are rising, and sarah connor is on the run. But I wonder, could we see the AI singularity go bad like Skynet? Or will the end come by diffrent means? Asteroid(deep impact)? Weather anomaly(day after tmr)? Nukes(dr.strangelove)? Something cool we don't even know about?

    In a way, religions fighting other religions is, idk, okay? At least it's people standing up for what they believe. What gets me is how many sects within the same religion have warred each other. You believe in the same freaking god, is the tiny differences really enough to warrant full scale war?

    I'd say the end of the world (or at least civilization) will occur when some president gets the bright idea to actually activate the "internet kill switch"

    or heck, a really good hacker of a parent who's sick of what his kid is exposed to.

Religion, in particular Judeo-Christianity has been the major driving force of most social development in the Western World including the justice system, liberty, equal rights, social welfare, public health and many many other institutions that are copied by many non-Western countries. Examine the roots of these innovations and you will find a religious motivation...
