Raid time issues. Any opinions would be very welcome

Okay so I live in Los Angeles and play on a West Coast server.

Got a new job, don't get off till 7pm. Most raids I know of happen around 5pm Tuesday-Thursday.

Now I know a lot of people that play in the east coast use west coast servers to solve this problem and it works out well for them.

I don't have this luxury so my question is, what server do I play on that has enough of a time difference, forwards ot backwards, that I would be able to raid at the typical time(5ish PM) at my available raid time which is 7ish PM?

Is there even one?

Ignore the server time, i played on a east coast server and our guild raided 12am pst, Look for Later* guild's, though late night guilds have been on a dying curve as of lately. Servers dont raid, guilds do.

Its true but the more successful raids I know of are very routine and raid at 5pm-8pm.

I too have the same issue. been with the same guild since May of '06. I haven't been able to raid consistently for 2 years. Start times of 7-8 PST would be great for me, and I'm CST...

I did a search (not easy to do) for later guilds, but not much luck...

Its such a bummer man cause I really enjoy this game and I especially enjoy raiding but I just can't with work the way it is. I'm very seriously considering quitting cause I am paying monthly for a game that I can't really play anymore

And I don't wanna quit! This isn't a QQ complaining about the game or anything, it just seems silly to pay for something I can't use

Don't quit, I'm sure there are probably guilds on your server that have times that work or look for some other servers and search the trade/grecruitment channel for your times.

Also not long now until the guild finder is in place, that will also be able to help.

Do you happen to know if it works across all servers or if its just on each individual server?

You probably don't need to transfer servers, you should be able to find something on your existing server. 5-8pm is actually a less common time slot in my experience. Most raids that I encounter on my [also west coast] server start at 7pm or 8pm because players often like to eat dinner between work and raid. Your server might have less of these than mine, but they surely exist (my own raid begins at 8pm because we have multiple people who need to put their young children to bed before raid begins). Most servers also have "late night" guilds that start even later than that or run in the middle of the night.

On a west coast server you're also far more likely to have Australian guilds that raid at "off hours" which is another option.

What server do you play on? I am on Shadowsong and haven't seen any that start that late

If you're on a PST server, there should be a very high number of guilds raiding at 7-8pm PST, since that's the normal start time for just about every guild. Suggesting that all guilds start at 5pm PST would mean that there are basically 0 raiding guilds on the entire west coast, since a 5pm PST start time would be ridiculous for anyone with a job. Maybe your server is just bass ackwards; look around a bit and check the other PST servers out there.

Not much help to you American lot, but on Kul Tiras EU my guild runs 2030 - 0030 server and we get quite a few applicants just because of the raid time.

@Jaime I totally agree with you, it is impossible for me but believe it or not, almost every major guild on my server raids starting at 5:30 which is very backwards in my opinion. Don't know how anyone with a job can do that, well a 9-5(in my case a 9-7) anyway.

Gonna start making toons on other PST servers and see what I come up with.

I'm on a PST server in a guild that has raiding from 9, 9:30 or 10pm 3-4 times a week for two years now. Finding odd start time guilds isn't easy but they're out there. Good luck.

Its really sounds like your complaining becuase you dont want to do the work of finding a guild that raids a good time for you and you just want to find a server that will pug around the time you want. If you want to raid somthing more than the first 3 boss's in this tier you really should do some homework and look for a suitable guild for your times, Looking at server times or location wont do shit for you except tell you what your MS will be on the server.

The west coast server I play on is Feathermoon. It's far from a hotbed of raiding but we have tons of raids that start 7pm or later.

I really think it's far more likely that you just haven't found the guilds on your server that raid later rather rather than them not existing.

how many characters do you need?
Transferring is a good option and allows you to find the perfect raiding schedule.

Remnants is one of Feathermoon's few remaining 25man raiding guilds. I do believe they run later in the evening too.
