Gems and AH

So ye after i saw some goldmaking guides with JC etc,i spent like 5k g on ores,prospect em and find out what happens,i made some gems blabla,but everytime i put em on AH,5 mins after some1 undercuts my prices for like 5 silver less and then another follows etc..3 days now ive sold like 5 gems and ive got like 200 more sitting on my bags..ive tried diff times like morning,evening,or late @ night..everytime the same happens..any idea?

Do you play on a high population server?

A couple quick things to note:

1) Undercutting will always happen, the question is by who, when, and by how much.
2) If it's always the same people, add them to your friends list to know when they are online
3) An even better trick, look the seller up on theunderminejournal.com and you can see what time of day they typically post and in what quantities

Also, you can't expect to read a guide and immediately turn what it tells you into profit. You really need to know your server's economy, if there are people controlling certain markets, etc. Depending on the market price of the ore, you will still come out ahead in the long run by slowly selling gems, turning uncommon gems into jewelry to DE (depending on the price of enchants/enchant mats), or simply by stockpiling. With 4.3 coming soon (TM), people will be getting lots of new gear via justice points, the new heroics, and new raids so demand for gems will skyrocket. At that point, it almost doesn't matter if you are immediately undercut because your gems will more than likely sell unless they are sitting at the AH all day long
