Does CONSECRATION need a new texture?

Was playing yesterday and thinking about this...

I pretty much got all the graphics set to max and the game looks really cool, but what bothers me is the VERY low texture-quality of Consecration.
In my opinion, they should redo it so make it a bit more cool, like some of the priests-spells or how, a DK's, Death and Decay works.

What do you guys think? Does it need an updated texture? Or a new effect?

No, because it is a waste of mana and doesn't get used, therefore it does not get seen and doesn't need a new texture.

i do agree that it does use an old texture and the quality hasnt been updated since around BC

meh... some spells have been getting updated so we may see it in the next beta or so

Don't know about you, but I do have occasions where I pop my consecration for extra threat in places with lots of enemies.. That's coming from a tank. I see DPS doing it all the time.

Back in wrath they did give it one but was reverted. I didn't like it. It was a bright yellow rune.

IDk I kind of like it the way it is.

Holy shock, exorcism & TV could definitely use new animations though. As is exorcism, HS, holy light & flash of light all look the same just with different lengths, TV and CS also look far too much alike.


As far as changes to consecration go however I would love it if they just deleted seals of the pure, baked its damage into seals at base then moved the talent hallowed ground into its place (U know the talent that reduces the mana cost by 80% and ups the damage by 40%). That way ret could drop consecrate without risking going OOM.

I like how consecration looks but I guess it could be better, doesn't bother me though. However, repentance must be fixed asap because I'm so tired of it getting either broken by someone or polymorphed by some stupid mage haha.

A new texture? it needs actualy to be good enough to be USED. lol.

Now seriously, the texture is OK, the spell was just so butchered that most people don't bother with it most of the time, wich is a shame since its an iconic paladin ability.


As it stands now, there are other abilities that could use a new animation/texture/visual overhaul like holy shock for example.

No. You leave my consecration alone. It's been like that since forever and it doesn't need to be changed, dammit. Just because it's old doesn't mean it needs fixing!

Consecration is fine. Would I tell them "no" if they asked me whether or not they should redesign the graphics of one of the least used abilities in the Pally arsenal? Nope. Are there a dozen better candidates? Definitely.

Disagreeing with your opnion is now a cardinal sin or what? Either you're acting up because your own feathers were also ruffled, or you're just trying to make a point over semantics. Neither are very constructive.

I would like an update to the resolution of the move at least, don't need it to be too jarring or it'll block the fire I'm meant to be avoiding.
