no ...blizzard really arent 11 mil subscribers x 12 $ per month enough for you ?

Lol blizzard isn't losing anything when they make said "side features" that are supposed to be in game (if dungeon finder is free feature then this should as well be, like real ID is free too). Only that they got a brilliant idea straight from the heavens that they CAN charge us for any feature they implement in game! They could just as well had made dungeon finder premium, and it even took hella lot more time to implement compared to this
So Mr. Ranor do you have an argument against my last statement?
This reminds me of a recent article about the TSA.
As long as "Blizzard's listening", we can vent and feel better. Nothing changes. They aren't really listening. But we feel better. (and then Blizzard locks the official forum thread on the topic... so now they REALLY aren't listening)

Well, I'm sorry that server transfers apparently killed your server. That's unfortunate and really makes me question -why- it killed your server. However this -is- the same thing. It's an additional service that is not included in your monthly sub \ not a feature promised with the launch of Cataclysm.
By your logic, name changes shouldn't cost money because they don't harm the server. Mobile AH shouldn't cost because they don't harm the server. Mobile guild chat shouldn't either. Race changes also shouldn't cost because they don't harm the server.
However, these all do cost because they are all additional services that you are not entitled to with your $15 a month, just like this new feature.
So. You're saying the person on your realm would get all of the gold and the other people won't get any of the gold. I mean, as it stands, if I wanted I could grab four guildies and grab a random fifth and charge them for a bear \ full gear from ZA \ ZG and make mad bank. I'm not really seeing your point because I'm beginning to think you don't have one.4 man needed, at least 1 with premium. 1 of those chars is on your server, he gets all the gold. Wisping someone, he puts up a 4man group, 1 of them from your realm. Could possibly cover all realms with enough coordination.
So you are the authority of what is "supposed" to be in the game now? Yes, Blizzard loses, development costs money. I'd rather they make the small amount of people who wanted this functionality pay for the development, rather than all of those who didn't really care. People here are just hunting for things to make conspiracy theories or cry about in general.
I know you don't get it. If you're willing to listen to the more sober voices, we can explain it to you.
Those paid-for things aren't a problem. Paying to specify which cross-realm players you want to be in your cross-realm group isn't a problem either.
This isn't the last paid-for service they will invent. That is the problem. In the past, our $200/year has gotten us new things in the game. Blizzard has changed its policy; it's realized that it can continue charging the $200/year, but charge for new features too. This is a fundamental change in the way they intend to extract money from their subscribers. It matters.
First they came for the pet collectors, and I said nothing because I wasn't a pet collector...
They have Top Men coming up with cheap stuff they can start charging for, and expensive stuff they can start charging a lot for. So maybe you get it now, if you're still reading (which you aren't). It would have been quicker to write "Sorry, I don't get it, and I don't care to."
They shouldn't monetize any "social" features in the game. This is really bad, and I'm really surprised in a negative way that Blizzard is doing something like that. If they keep doing that, they'll make more players quit.
OK to charge money for:
- remote auction house
- style items which don't increase character power (mounts, pets, ...)
- mobile armory (I know it's free, but they should rather make the chat stuff free than things like this)
- the game itself (monthly fee), helps ensure quality of servers and content updates
NOT OK to charge money for:
- remote guild/friends chat
- dungeon finder with friends
This should be common sense in a MMORPG.
I love WoW and Blizzard quality gameplay, but things like that really make me take a closer look at some upcoming alternatives like GW2.
