Hello I asked a long time ago if I could run this game and I was told that I could however, I played the beta and my computer could barely run it. Maybe the beta wasn't optimized but now I'm scared that I won't be able to play Guild Wars 2. Can anyone tell me if I should be able to play Guild Wars 2 and on what settings? (Low, Med, High)
Windows Vista service pack 2
Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @2.67GHz (8 CPUs),~2.7GHz
8.00 GB (RAM) 64-bit Operating System DirectX11
NVIDIA GeForce GTS240
OS: Windows 7 Ult 64bit
CPU: Intel i7 3770
Ram: 16GB DDR3 1600
Mobo: Z77 Gigabyte
GPU: Galaxy GTX680
Runs without a hitch.
Hi guys, how good am I able to run this game with this setup?
I cannot put everything on max cause it will lag me 30-40 FPS.
I'm OCing the processor to 4,5 ghz on a Asus p8z77 ( I'm using the program inside the CD called AI SUITE 2, is it good )
I got a Corsair 8GB DDR3-1600 but it is running at 1330 or even lower, why that shit?
Thank you
The Nvidia 306.02 drivers I just installed have made a world of difference for me. Previously, I was running at 30-40 FPS with my GT 630m, and now it's 50+ in most areas. Huge improvement all around.
give amd profiles already...

I'm having a bit of a problem in regards to FPS:
Win 7 64
8gb DDR RAM
i5 750 (at stock)
HD 5850 (with 12.8 and 12.7 profile)
At "Best performance", I cap at 15/16 fps. "Best appearance", and I'm at...12 fps. What gives? Even if 12 fps is what I should be getting with everything on high, why with everything on low (and downsizing resolution to 1024 instead of 1920) do I only gain 4 fps?
Win 7 64bit
i5 2500k
8GB DDR3 1600
GTX 560ti
256GB Samsung 830 SSD
I run at 50-60 FPS with no issues pretty much all the time on High settings outside of the random giant WvW battle (like 100+ people in one area) and even then it's still playable. With 30+ people on a dynamic event I'm still running just fine. No complaints here.
AMD Athlon II X4 620 Quad-Core

NVIDIA GeForce 9100

Can't get more specific on my specs since I am at work at the moment. Can only get up to 11FPS on all low settings. I know my graphics card is the primary concern here...wanted to know if changing to a GTX 550ti would be a good choice? Only looking to spend no more than $150 on a card which is why I didn't consider the 560ti. My monitor resolution is 1600x900 if that's needed to determine which card would be best. Would rather not stray from Nvidia since that's what I'm used to. What about the GTX 560 (not the ti version)? Is the 550ti better than the 560? Need guidance
The GeForce 9100 wasn't a strong gaming GPU to begin with, but your CPU is still going to bottleneck the performance of any modern GPU. You're basically going to need a total rebuild to see any huge improvements. That said, the GTX 550ti would be big step in the right direction, though personally I would save up and buy the 560ti so you'll at least have it if and when you do a new build
i7-2600K, 8GB Mushkin Blackline, Asus 690GTX. Anywhere from 50-70fps at 5760x1080 on high.
/wank I suppose?
Still sad that surround doesn't work very well for cutscenes etc. Looks fantastic otherwise in normal gameplay.
It still wouldn't be effective even if the graphics were pushed as low as they could go? And by new build I assume you mean getting a new processor and motherboard that's compatible with it? I don't really need to have the graphics on high I just want to be able to play the game (maybe down the road I'll worry about that but for now I want to be able to just play effectively without the super low FPS).
How does the 550ti compare to the 560 (not the 560ti just the regular one)?
At 1600x900, a 550ti with your CPU would most likely produce playable framerates at low-medium settings. MMORPGs being the finnicky beasts that they are, it's tough to say with 100% certainty, but if you're looking for a single upgrade to make then that would be the one to make.
You really should say that more often.
New AMD profiles made available yesterday. 12.8 CAP 2.
New profiles added to this release:
- Guide Wars 2 – Improves games performance.
I kind of want to send a rage-letter to whomever made that spelling mistake though... haven't tried it yet, so I don't know how much it improves things - will report back around this time tomorrow with how much of a difference it made for me.

Hey guys.
Just wanted to give me 2 cents and some info for ppl using Core 2 duo E4300 ( 1.8 Ghz). Im using this cpu in combination with radeon 4980. I encounter enormous fps problems ranging from 17 fps in cities to around 30 in less crouded areas.
From what i see the cpu is the major problem here , as it does not matter if i run on min settings , medium. 1024x780 or 1600x1200. the fps count is pretty same .
So for all C2D 1,8 ppl . Get ready to be flustrated.
When il get back from work i will oc cpu as much as i can ( using exelent Asus p5b deluxe mainboard) and will share the results.
On side note . Do You ppl think that upgrading to core2 quad ( let say Q9450) will give any noticable difference ? . I know it will boost fps count , but idk if it worth it , or just wait some time as buy i5 already ( around 3x more expensive).
Thanks and cya in game ^^
Not really. I am using an overclocked Q9550 with Radeon HD 4890 and 8gigs of ram and getting similar results. Around 30-35 fps in crowded zones and below 30 in the cities on medium settings. It's just an issue with the bloody game. People have been saying the same thing about SW:TOR - "It's your problem, there's nothing wrong with the game" and few months later Bioware fixed their engine and it works great now.
30 fps is not playable. Not in an MMO. The worst part is that the difference between ultra (without shadows) and lowest is around 5 fps for me. What a joke.
Thanks for reply Veysa. Honeltly was NOT expecting such responce heh. So even with oc Q9550 you get around 10 more fps then my C2D. wow .
Im starting to blame both Anet and AMD for this ( from my experiance with radeons the drivers were near always poor/ bad ). I just cant belive that every player is running on i5/i7. I mean thous cpu's and NOT cheap lol . So in a nutshell changing to C2Q is just a waste of money atm.
Thanks and cya in game ^^ ( slideshow style but still ... ).
Don't need an i5/i7, you can get an i3 + H61 mobo + 4GB DDR3 combo for under $200.
Yeah I know that doesn't justify the game running piss-poor on older setups. Anything from HD4800 and HD4900 series should be more than enough, those cards could hold 25-30fps in Crysis at 1080p (Gamer settings) which is no easy feat.
