Take a break from politics once in awhile, it's good for you.
Its fine for what we needed.

Just you for now it seems
It's fine, sure, with the exception of the whole "many classes have to port to dalaran and go through it to get to their class halls", which is very very uncomfortable due to the absurdly long loading times dalaran has. They should have just given everyone a direct order hall teleport, even if it was on a pretty long CD, just for when you want to get to your order hall urgently fast.
On another note, suramar city is fucking beautiful, would have loved that to be a hub.

Honestly I enjoyed it in Northrend, I enjoy it now. The layout makes sense, it's easy to find everything. Everything is spaced out evenly. It flies! There are portals everywhere! There aren't a ton of stairs and multiple levels with lots of walls for redundant camera panning. It's not a faction city where all the portals are out of the way. What's not to like?
It's fine, but I'd have preferred a new original hub.
It's a hub I guess.
Always loved Dala. Prob Wrath nostalgia, but I love having the two factions mix in a central hub.
Dalaran is one of the best cities there is. Although nothing quite beats the feeling of entering there for the first time in Wrath. If they wouldn't have removed the portals from Northrend Dalaran, I'd have kept it as my home location all the way until Legion. Blizz removing Dalaran portals but not removing Pandaland portals smells like heavy bias though...
I barely use it. spend more time in my class hall (which as a warrior has teleports). can't recall the last time i've been in dalaran for more then 5 minutes.
Most of my dalaran visits are skyhold > krasus landing mailbox > skyhold.

whats good about it? it's pretty much just a big circle with npcs along it. which is convenient but when i think about a city i think about it having more then one street. maybe it's just cause it super small cause other circular cities like ironforge and undercity don't have that problem for me.
now i do have to give wotlk dala kudos for mammoth trains and CITIZENS OF DALARAN, but the new one doesn't have anything like that.

For its purpose, Dalaran is ok. It made sense if you bring the kirin tor into the expansion. However i would have prefered shal'aran be the major hub/location as its far more centrally located.
Still a reused city, even if it is neat. Now we have even more immersion breaking thanks to having two versions of the same city. They could have gotten a little more creative...
Ideas off the top of my head:
New Naaru ship
Giant airship built as a collaboration of Horde and Alliance engineers
A section of Suramar that is retaken during an intro quest series
The scrapped island
Separate faction capitals in Stormheim (Horde) and Val'Sharah (Alliance)
An ancient night elf temple raised from the sea by Khadgar, the perfect mirror to Gul'Dan and his raising of the Tomb.
Ny'alotha since this expansion is selling us Old God hype so hard it barely feels like it is about the Burning Legion at all anyway.

I get where you are coming from...As a blood elf, my people were MURDERED in that city on a whim by someone who still leads it! Now I'm supposed to work with them without even an apology? Good thing I'm a monk and above holding grudges, even unprovoked and unpunished genocide.

Yes, running laps in boredom or chatting aimlessly on vent is far superior than laps in any other city. It is oddly satisfying.
I like when they use old stuff, it makes the world feel more alive.
