Unsure if this has been answered yet, but does she get both her Ults and just uses them in different forms? Or does she basically have to choose if shes going to be in Mech or Pilot more.

Not a single offensive ability.. no poke or damage dealing abilities. No snare or stun. Bomb better do some serious damage, 4 seconds, better be a pretty big area...
Doesn't seem like a very fun hero to me...

I wouldn't put her in the same slot as Jo or Arthas. I think she's more along the lines of Leoric, having access to a lot of soft CC but mostly being a damage dealer.

Thing is, they're both warriors, so they do kinda fill the same slot... At least as far as matchmaking is concerned.

It almost feels like they need to split Warrior and Bruiser into two categories, as they're rather different characters and fill different roles within the game, but the game disagrees.

D.Va is supposed to be an ex-pro in starcraft, but in the nexus she meets actual zerg, protoss and terrans what do that mean ?

-The starcraft universe is canon to the overwatch universe and blizzard has superpower of divination.
-D.Va knows the starcraft races to be fictive meaning she can break the 4th wall and realize she is fictive too.
-Blizzard does not care to HotS's lore (no, it couldn't possibly be it)

Her pilot mode does a whopping 228 dps at lvl 1, which can be increased 75% with a 16 talent. In addition, Big Shot gives her the poke needed in pilot mode - I forsee that D.Va's will utilize Pilot Mode until they either A) Get ganked, and have to pop back into mech, or B) time for the fight to actually start.

It seems, not sure on this, but if the mech dies to PvE targets, it doesn't grant XP for the enemy team either.

Also, the explosion deals 400 damage (If you are at the very edge), up to 1200 damage (If you are right next to the mech). The area is larger then Kael'Thas' Pheonix too.

How could it be based on true storie ? the overwatch universe is supposed to happen in the near future.
Also I'm not salty, seems pretty obvious I was doing an innocent joke on lore contradiction , you are the one who take it way too seriously.

After all, uther said we should not try to think to hard about it, no one is looking for real explanation on why a murloc can take on the prime evil.

Matchmaking already has definition on bruisers and tanks separately. Though at the moment only Zarya, Sonya and Varian are considered bruisers by the MM.

Huh, didn't know that... mostly because I almost never play any of those heroes. So it's not so much a case of needing to create a new classification, it's more a case of getting the right heroes put INTO that class.

Anub, Arthas and Tyrael can work as solo Warriors, but mainly in specific compositions or against specific compositions.

Blizzard just love to release bruiser after bruiser while we are in dire need of true tanks with CC to set up kills. Yeah, screw D.Va.

Well... They ARE kinda the only true tanks, so it makes sense to have them in their own niche.

But yeah, I totally agree Blizz need a true tank. If they insist on adding OW heroes, they could stick in someone like Reinhardt, or... the gorilla guy?

None of those.

This is people from different Universes meeting. Different realities. Realities where fictional things exists.

She's not going to say "Oh hey, Zerg! But they're fictional, so must I!" She'll be "Oh wow, a universe where they're real? Neat!" Think of all those horrible fan-fictions in the late 90's where they got sucked into their favourite game or TV show. To her, it's exactly that.

On the subject of heroes moving while attacking:

We are very deliberate with who we give the "attack while moving" powers too. For Tracer, it would be anathema to the fantasy of the Hero to not let her attack while moving. For Zarya, she absolutely didn't need it, so we didn't give it to her. For Lucio, with his Wall Ride, it would have made him feel much more clunky, and at odds with his own kit. For Genji, we didn't want to give him full attack-while-moving, but we did want that three-hit cadence, but we didn't want to lock him in place for the whole animation, so thus why he stops to throw the first, but not the others.

For D.Va, her Mech's abilities (Boosters and Defense Matrix) speak to some form of mobility, and we felt like we would again be at odds with her Mech's playstyle not letting it attack while moving. But to try to shore up some of that frustration, we slowed down her Mech's movespeed so that while she can attack while moving, you will eventually out run her (unless her Boosters come back off cooldown). Pilot D.Va, however, we definitely did not want attack while moving, and thus why you don't see it on her.

We definitely understand the frustration there can be at fighting such a Hero, and that's why we're very careful about it.
