Can someone tell me how the gameplay and combat system works? Is it tab targeting with a lot of abilities ala WoW or something in the lines of the new MMOs, more action oriented?

The site Rivyr posted is probably the most up to date on immediate news, but I prefer FFXIVrealm. The community is good and their newsfeed is up to date.

Has anyone got a beta code yet for phase 3?

Also I played FFXI and FFXIV 1.0 but it's been a long time since I've logged back into my account. Now it's saying there is no email associated with any account. I emailed support but nothing yet. Do they delete accounts?

You have to merge your PlayOnline account into a SquareEnix account. I was having the same problem when I reactivated XI.

Also Im not sure about codes going out. I didnt receive any code but I was able to log into the beta client that I had from phase2 and update it for phase3. My SquareEnix account has the FF:ARR beta service attached to it. Not sure if that means that Ill need a code to log in during the test of if its just authenticated against my account.

They're adding the male mithra and female galka with 2.0, guess they got tired of the gender inequalities. I'm happy for that, since it means I get to be a Hethra/manthra.

Some people maybe, but I'll always remember mithra before mi'qote and galka before Roegadyn.

Haha. The circle I still keep in touch with from FFXI, we all call the races by their XI original names. Even new players are sort of catching on. I don't know anyone who openly calls them Mi'qote or Roegadyn, especially the latter.

I main black mage atm, but the way summoner sounds, and how cool their animation looked, I may move over to them. I wonder between the 2 jobs what the requirement will be. If I had to guess it would be Arcanist 30/thm 15 for summoner, and Arc30/con15 for scholar. Course I'm not sure if they're keeping the system like that or not, or if they may go with higher numbers for one of them.
