Apparently everyone isnt 6/7 heroic or ppl wouldnt ask about this
No, im not hardcore, as i only raid 9 hours a week, but normal is so easy it can be done blindfolded
Heroic is challenging, but doable for casuals too
To bad half my raid got no brains and if we had kept doing 10s, raggy hc would have been down by now

Right now im just waiting for 4.3

we raid 9h a week, 3 days à 3 hours each. 6/7 is still waaay to easy.

My 6/7h run goes 2 days a week, 4 hours a night. We were 3/7 heroic before the nerf and got 6/7 shortly after the nerf. Right now we can clear 6/7 in about 1.5 hours depending on boss order and other things. Some of us have had these bosses "on farm" for a while so it is easy to us. Those groups that have 3-5 bosses down on heroic should be 6/7. None of the first 6 bosses on heroic are so difficult that you can't down them in 10-20 attempts. It's not about the amount of total time put in on the bosses. It's about the amount of time it takes your raid to understand the mechanics of each encounter and how long it takes for them to execute their jobs on those encounters. Some raiders will just "get it" faster than others.

From someone that's only put in 5 attempts, all of which were just "lets see the first, second, then third phase", Heroic rag shouldn't be nerfed. He's not un-killable or bugged. The encounter is just long and requires you to make little or no mistakes. If you're working on heroic rag and people are still being hit with waves you have a bigger problem than the boss being "too hard".

Then do it in PUGs ? I really don't want to be rude, totally understand that people may enjoy being in the same guild as "real or not" friends. But when their raid level are worst than a pug what's the point of asking more nerf ? IMO it should be a level when you just understand that "okay, guild raiding is just not for us". Nerfing raid to 5-man difficulty isn't the answer (and Blizzard are pretty much doing it for LFR).

This is complete bullshit. We raid 5-6 hours per week, tops, and we're 6/7 heroic. We one-shot Shannox, Alysrazor and Majordomo heroic. The other three took us about 10 wipes each. We're just a normal casual guild, on the contrary to those easy heroic kills normal ragnaros pre nerf took us about 60 wipes.

I think if you want to stay consistent, you need to look at the statistics from the previous tier. Someone else also posted the following numbers here somewhere, I think they'd be a curious addition to this thread as well. While they shouldn't be taken as facts, they give some perspective. They are for 10 and 25 combined.

Percentages are taken from the total amounts of guilds with any success in Firelands/whatever raid (see = killed one boss)

    H: Shannox: 23861 (55.26%)
    H: Lord Rhyolith: 15545 (36.00%)
    H: Majordomo: 15528 (35.96%)
    H: Alysrazor: 13322 (30.85%)
    H: Baleroc: 11641 (26.96%)
    H: Beth'tilac: 10826 (25.07%)
    H: Ragnaros: 1118 (2.59%)

    H: Halfus Wyrmbreaker: 24712 (33.20%)
    H: Atramedes: 14605 (19.62%)
    H: Chimaeron: 14424 (19.38%)
    H: Magmaw: 13116 (17.62%)
    H: Maloriak: 11830 (15.89%)
    H: Valiona and Theralion: 7862 (10.56%)
    H: Omnotron Defense System: 6447 (8.66%)
    H: Cho'gall: 4890 (6.57%)
    H: Conclave of Wind: 4374 (5.88%)
    H: Nefarian: 3337 (4.48%)
    H: Al'Akir: 2838 (3.81%)
    H: Sinestra: 1943 (2.61%)
    H: Ascendant Council: 1777 (2.39%)

You can see that Ragnaros is being killed by a similar amount of guilds as the end bosses of the previous tier were. However, the progression from boss to boss was a lot smoother in tier 11 and people kept on progressing until the last moments - a model which reflects most tiers before. With the design used in Firelands, guilds are breezing through 6/7 and get stuck on Ragnaros and many of them might not feel that they're making any progression or the jump is otherwise too big for them.

Based on this numbers, you might argue that the nerf is not needed. Some, on the other hand, could say that Ragnaros needs to be in line with the rest of the bosses in the instance and not the bosses of the previous tiers. I'm leaning towards the first one.

Lol? We raid 10.5 hrs/wk, we are 7/7 heroic. 6/7H was easy pre nerf and still is easy. Pre-pre-pre-pre nerf 25 H baleroc was challenging, nothing else really was.

There aren't many guilds that raid 20+ hrs a week. We have 1 on our server that raids that much, yet we have 22 other guilds 6/7H+.

... I havent even started heroic yet ><. How do you guys find time to raid for more than 2 hours a week btw? I have to do it all in one sitting on Friday nights. If I try during the week I have to log off before the raid is even formed as I usually can only log on for 30min to an hour on weekdays. This also makes it difficult to get the gear required for entry into a new raid. If you guys have any tips on how to allow for more play time/make enough gold to maybe buy some epics from the AH that would be appreciated.

Stop watching TV (average time seems to be 2,7h/day in US, accounting for half leisure time per day. Source : http://www.bls.gov/news.release/atus.nr0.htm) . And if you really are overwhelmed by your real life, grats to you for such a nice life. But raiding isn't for you probably.
