so they aren't lowering the vp cap? then all this does it make raiders run more randoms to cap, thus putting more raiders in the queue to carry casuals through heroics.

No since the items from the NPC will be overshadowed by those that drop in raod, minus a few rings and maybe cloak. Tier pieces = token only. Look at the facts before posting please.

my faith in blizzard pvp ahs been restored and now just fix some classes and you will rock even more, this change means you wont have to do arena for conquest points or do lame 5 mans to get valor to convert to conquest

I'm pleased about the Conquest changes, admittedly for selfish reasons. Farming HKs will become much more rewarding for my alts, that's for sure. The Valor changes are going to make players carefully consider between 10m and 25m raiding. With equal non-gear rewards being offered, 10m becomes the more attractive option imo.

This blizzard post is such bullshit. There are a ton of valor items this time around.The real reason they are doing this is to drag out the amount of time that people will keep playing before they take a pre-MoP break. They don't want people getting geared, killing DW and the quitting until MoP comes out like people did with Wrath and Cataclysm.

I do believe they posted a few weeks back that you will obtain valor points from daily quests or something to that effect.
Not 100% sure but I know on a early version of the patch notes it listed several new ways players would obtain valor emblems.

Afaik, they said so in Blizzcon, about MoP. People will probably be able to earn VPs thru dailies. But don't quote me on it, I cba find a source.

Conquest changes are nice, people who only wanna do random BGs with friends wont be severely undergeared compared to people who do arena / RBGs now.

Incomming 25-man raider "I DESERVE MORE THAN 10-MAN RAIDERS" crying.

But yeah. If they really want to slow down the aquisition rate of items-through-Valor points, they'd reduce the weekly cap. Reducing the amount of points per boss kill just forces raiders to use the random LFG tool.

It's almost like the Conquest and Valor changes contradict each other. Allowing PvPers more options to get their Conquest, then making PvE raiders have to do LFG dungeons over and over to cap if they aren't able to progress through a raid completely in a single lockout.

Yet currently in PvE content you can get the cap entirely from the "lower" tier, being just heroic dungeons.
But in PvP you cannot earn the conquest cap, or even anything remotely close to even the normal heroic dungeon quota from random unrated battlegrounds.

They are moving closer together rather than further apart.

A real incentive to win the random battlegrounds instead of substantial numbers farming honor or humping the meters is a nice incentive, even if it is the wrong way to go about it.
Though the real changes needed are ones that blizzard are simply not willing to go through with.

Conquest Points for winning normal battlegrounds is pretty much the best change ever. Might even bring me back in 4.3 together with the allure of being able to raid on my own schedule with the raid finder.

So sad how blizz keeps killing 25 man raids. People already run the 10 mans cause they are easier.

10 man raids are only easier in the sense that you don't need as many people to do one (obviously). A few fights are easier in 10 man as you have more room to maneuver. However, 25 mans are quite a bit more forgiving if you lose people. A lot of times in a 10 man raid, especially learning new fights, if you lose more than one person, it's a wipe. 25s can lose possibly up to 5 people and still kill a boss depending on who those people were and when they died during the fight.

The reason 25 mans aren't run more often is the work required to put them together and keep them going. Most of the times, fights are easier with 25 people. Why do you think the top guilds run 25 mans over 10 mans?
