    Question about improving my PC

I am interested in one thing. Atm i am running windows XP with directx 9, now i am wondering will games run better (fps improvements, etc.) if i switch to windows 7 with directx 10 or 11.

    My PC setup is:

    Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
    Mainboard - ASUSTek P5K SE
    RAM - 3GB DDR2 400MHz
Graphic - Nvidia Gforce GT 240

Also, maybe some smaller improvements i can make, nothing too expensive, maybe some new faster ram.

I don't think your graphics card can even support Dx11 let alone Dx10.
    Playing since 2007.

I'd save up for a new computer tbh.

Your RAM is very slow and your CPU is quite old. You will need a new motherboard to improve both. Your GPU is also lacking a bit, though not as much as RAM/CPU.

At this point your computer is far too old for there to be little improvements that you can make that would be cost effective and give you a nice performance boost.

I'd suggest you start saving now for a new PC.
