Help with elevator?

I'm looking to build a piston snake elevator. I understand the premise of how it works and which order the blocks on each side of the elevator need to be powered. My issue is that I cannot seem to translate that into a redstone circuit that will do what needs to be done. Anyone have a map or anything that I could look at that would give me an idea of how it's done?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by snake elevator. I personally built an elevator that uses stairs and pistons that push you up the stairs. It wasn't too hard to build.
