Especially when she was hyped up so hard about how frighteningly strong she was. All we got to see of it was her vs Kenpachi.

It's pretty clear that she's about the same strength as the current Kenpachi. Just judge it by what he can do.

Yeah that's about right. I was meaning more towards her popularity.. or lack of... She was always hyped up as a beast but we never got to see it. She always got relegated the crappy healing jobs in the story. So of course people don't really care about her as much as others.

The problem was, the Hype train was set to overdrive, we got brief glimpses of what she can do and it was fucking HARD CORE...

But we never REALLY got a chance to see her in action. I GUARENTEE if she'd for example been the one to lay the smack down on one of the many Sternritter who'd been pwnd by now we'd have people going on about how awesome she is and how much they love her.

Hahaha too true. Although I'd say Shunsui's Hypetrain is bigger than Unohana's simply because we've seen him pretty much oneshot the strongest Espada with just his Shikai, after being warned NOT to use his Bankai because it's too fucked up. How can that NOT cause excessive anticipation?

But yeah, if Shunsui's Hypetrain is the Shinkansen... Royal Guard's Hypetrain is the Hogwart's express can't wait to see what they can do... If we even get the chance to.

Given recent events, I don't know if we will get a payoff to the Shunsui hypetrain till a possible epilogue.

Don't worry, Kubo promised that everyone that has a bankai would use it in this arc. If he breaks that promise and doesn't reveal Shunsui's Bankai (and I mean REALLY reveal it, like a full long fight where we get to see all it's abilities Zanka no Tachi style, not like the bullshit we've had recently) then I swear to all the gods, demigods, saints, angels, Buddha, Boddisatva and Arhats I will fly to Japan so I can kick him SQAURE in his lying face .

Yeah that's pretty much what I was meaning.

With all these power ups do you really think we will even get to see the royal guard in combat? I really hope there purpose is more than just to provide power ups...

Quick guys. Which captain is best suited to be next royal guard (assuming there was an opening)?

Hmm in terms of overall ability probably Byakuya. But what does he bring to that crazy royal guard table? Not much, none of the captain's really do.

Considering you have to invent something crucial in society to be a royal guard...the only person that comes close is Urohara.

As much as I'd love to say Shunsui, probably none of them. You have to invent something CORE to the Shinigami, so maybe Yoruichi for inventing Shunko, a new unarmed combat style that could be taught to all Shinigami to greatly increase combat ability or Urahara for his work with Mod Souls and the like.

But overall I doubt any of them will be invited.

Until we know fully what Unohana's Bankai and Shikai are, she's not dead IMO.

No character has EVER died or gone away permanently without showing all of their abilities, especially in a Shounen.

That's the whole thing I find interesting about Bleach's story. Though individual pieces aren't done well (certain character development for instance), the motives and actual overarching themes are fantastic. Ichigo's character and motivations have to be the strongest (aside from One Piece) to me out of most shounens I've read.

That being said, you're completely right about Aizen. Even Genryuusai Yamamoto started to see things that way the more Ichigo aided Soul Society; he saw the system was fucked up. However, Aizen chose to destroy everything and control it instead of doing what Yamamoto did: actively try to change thing, change of attitude, etc.

I can't wait to see how this series ends. It feels as if the climax is starting to build up.

5 bucks Ywach, Haschwald, and Uryu are headed to the Royal Palace.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^

If we've learnt one thing from the Royal Guard, though they're all probably beasts in fighting, it's that they're namely part of the Royal Guard because they invented something crucial to Soul Society or whatever they made was history altering.

Annnnd how many of those types of things has Urahara created? :P

He is absolutely but I didn't pick him as he isn't a captain any more lol. But if we include anyone then he's the obvious and really only pick.

Yes Aizen who freely uses, manipulates and then kills his own followers would be FAR more just than The Soul king .

Also, they don't 'freely experiment' on the spirits in Rukongai, it HAS happened in the past, but the person responsible usually ends up in the DEEPEST pits of prison.

And they don't stare to death, they can't they're already dead .

Yamamoto (probably Shunsui as well, once he's finished with the whole "Saving everyone from being murdered by the Sternritter" thing) had the right idea. Don't destroy everything and start again, work to change what you currently have.

What do you know, Ichigo was a pawn in the big baddies plan all along... doesn't that sound familiar? It's like Aizen's ark all over again, replace espada with quincy and there you go.

The soul king rules over all. Regardless if the quincy take over the seireitei they would just be ruling over a garden of a mansion. About how they knew about how to get there? Not sure but he did speak with aizen.

Thoughts on 585: 7/10 That's more like it Kubo san!

So the chapter starts with Bach addressing Ichigo using his.. Mobile collumn of light phone...Thing.

Then we get the big reveal, Ichigo's fancy new outfit is made of a special (slightly gross...)material, able to withstand breaking through the 72 barriers that protect the King of Souls in his fancy pad... But there's a catch, due to the great speed with which Ichigo broke through the barriers and because he didn't use the tower thing the Royal Guard usual travel in, AFTER you bust through all 72 barriers, they take 6000 seconds (or 1hr 40 minutes) to reseal... Meaning Bach now has just shy of an hour and 3/4 to get in there and try to fuck up the Soul King.

Naturally Ichigo doesn't take this ALL that well and attempts to dash over to Bach and stop him getting in, the only problem is the eight angry Sternritter standing in his way. He attempts to dodge past them, but even Ichigo's near legendary speed isn't enough and he gets smacked a few times. But just when he's about to be the filling in a painful Bazz-B/Glasses Sandwhich... A wild Renji Appears!

Then we end on one of the coolest panels of the last few weeks, The Shinigami Hero support squad, waiting to take on the eight angry Sternritter and buy Ichigo some time... So the question then becomes... Who will fight who? Here are my predictions!

Byakuya Vs Glasses. Battle of the arrogant fuckers, it's going to be great.

Renji Vs Nananananananana. This fight was set up earlier, Banana nincompoop has been studying Renji, he's going to want to put that to use.

Rukia Vs Bazz B. A song of Ice and Fire, has to be done.

Ikkaku Vs The Power. Battle of the Bruisers, Should be a dirty bastard of a fight.

Hisagi Vs The Zombie. Can you say Bankai? Yeah you can!

Yumichika Vs Pepe. Don't know why, but I think Pepe is a Kido type, mostly due to his weapon of choice seeming to be a staff and him being a big old fatty. Would be interesting to see what Yumi's Shikai can do against a Kido Specialist.

Now that leaves 2 Sternritter out, because there are eight Sternritter and only six Shinigami, either two Shinigami will have a 2v1 (in which case I think Hisagi will also fight The Gluttony and either Byakuya, Renji or Rukia will take on The Lightning) or two more good guys (possibly Vizard) will join the fight at a later date. I'm hoping for two Vizard to join in, because that means more fights!

Overall a very good chapter, not because anything special happened, but because it's setting up what looks to be six (or eight) AWESOME fights! Not to mention once there are done we'll have 3 EPIC fight's to look forward to (Ichigo vs Bach, Ishida Vs someone, hopefully Chad and Orihime and then the greatest fight in Bleach History, Shunsui Vs Haschwalth).

    Bring on next week!!
