Interesting.. AH-IPS. For price-reference, it's 100 AUD less than the U2711.
Xonar Essence............... what? ST? STX? ONE?!

I'm not so sure that would be an optimal setting for rock/metal. lol
My NZXT Sentry 2 (while is annoying with its beeps and looks kind of tacky) will shut a fan off completely if I lower it below 40%.... because 40% is some special on/off point. O.o
Meh to each their own, the "valley" equalizer is the most widely accepted setting for rock/metal.
It's most likely that your fans simply don't undervolt below a certain point. There are quite a few sets of fans which simply turn off after the voltage dips below a certain point, while other fans can keep going. I don't know how low the Sentry 2 allows voltage goes, probably a lot lower than my inbuilt fan controller (since the Sniper controller is designed to keep the 200mm Megaflows spinning no matter what, and those need big volts).

Yup ideally you would use different EQ settings for each and every song, depending on what you wanted to bring out. Seeing as that would be a total headache, I've simply userdefined my own settings for "techno", "metal" and "other" (other being pop/classical/etc where the mids actually matter).

Yeah I might have to do make a prog setting, testing out Dream Theater's Octavarium now. This is a perfect test I think, because of all the different sounds and such that the song goes through.
GPU'less for almost 7 weeks now, I want to start WoW again, my question is: can the GPU for the 2500k run wow? Not raiding atm, just want to scroll of ress and test a new class. Don't want to waste the scroll
Of course you should be able to start up WoW with HD2000. Set all settings to absolute minimum on the login screen itself, should be fine after that.

Hope you're not using that actual youtube video for sound testing, 'tube only supports up to 128kbps sound and does other horrible things to the sample rate/quality.
