This part made me tear up as well. It was so sweet! My 22 year-old heart was swelling with manly joy!

I felt the same way, really. I was excited that he is a relative of Zuko's, but the voice didn't suit the body.

Interesting theory....

I actually have my own that also has to do with the Lion Turtle, or what he said. Basically Energy bending can be used to take away bending but also to grant someone knowledge. I think Aang had a pupil, or chose one of his friends who he thought was responsible, strong of mind, and connected to the spirits....he then used energybending to grant them wisdom and the ability to energy bend as well incase it was ever needed.

This could be because Aang wanted to ensure that someone would still keep an eye on Zuko after he died, or to stop the next avatar if they were corrupt, or just maintain order against evil benders.

It's possible that he granted this power to one of his kids, either Kya or Bumi. Or anyone really....but i think no older then 40ish.

Another possibility is the kid simply stumbled upon the lion turtle, perhaps during the falling apart of the 'Harmony Operation' (one of the big plot points it he manga that attempts to bridge the timeline between ATLA and ATLOK) when some disgruntled fire nation colonists killed Amon's parents, and he was left alone and lost.
I do think though that there is a likely possibility that Korra will learn from Aang, and perhaps the Lion Turtle as well, how to energybend and figure a way to restore lost bending before the end of the series. Just because that'll give a 'happier' ending.

sokka just felt like a beating stick for a good portion of the show, it wasn't until book 3 that he started really becoming useful and even then there were episodes where all he did was crack jokes and get beat up in fights. they could have done much more with him (and his sword but that wouldn't be appropriate for nick)

yeah it's just that at times it seemed that he was utterly useless. he was much better in book 3 don't get me wrong, it's just how i saw him for some reason.

You can always make a voice, I'm pretty sure he can change it multiple ways. I feel that General Iroh's voice is fine, just because he looks older and is older doesn't mean his voice can't sound like Zuko's. Stop complaining, it sounds fine, you're just nostalgic about a 16 year old voice that Zuko had. I bet Zuko even into his 20's didn't have a different voice.

EDIT: The stop complaining wasn't directed toward you Azalu, I meant in general.

Zuko takes 6th simply, because I didn't really like him until the end on Book 3. Although, he was a very good character.

I feel pretty alone in thinking Zuko was a really boring character. Other than having a pretty sexy voice, I found his story uninteresting (except for Iroh's awesomeness) and far too emo. Might be that I've grown tired of redemption stories though, since they're all starting to seem the same...

OT: I just don't see how you can't put Zuko in the top 5, being dead serious because of the way he was done, he should at least get 5th or above. I mean he's just such a great character.

My thoughts similarly, ignoring badass characters and their battle prowness. I'd have to say my favorite characters in terms of character depth and development would have to be Azula & Toph.
