Probably Final Fantasy 14, I know it isn't dead, but...good lord did it completely bomb. (I do want to see what happens once they fix it up though, I don't own the game, but it would be interesting, but...everyone on the team was fired, public apologies and giving players who owned it free game time until they felt it was worth paying for...jeeze, though I -really- respect the team for doing that for players)

You cant really add FF XIV on the list because im sure it did just fine in Japan. Just because it failed in the Western market doesnt mean it failed. Also Aion falls in this category as it is doing just fine in Korea and other Asian countries.

The MMO's failed for their new target demographics in the EU and US.
For a game to be successful worldwide, you should look at the target demographics in a new country you're porting it too, and adjust it accordingly.
Especially with a big title that will clearly not fit in certain places.

To the people that have said Aion failed at end game... Aion did not fail at end game. Aion failed at the fact that you run out of quests at level 30 and had to kill mobs till 50. If it was like 1-20 the whole way i prob wouldn't have come back to wow.

As for guild wars 2 they have said that they arn't going to release it till everything is finished which is a big plus. And also it is is B2P so alot of people will play it and wow. Also i have never said this about any other mmo but i think it is going to give wow a big kick to the balls, not kill it just a big kick. Because it is looking very impressive.

This thread is/has turned into a game bashing flame fest. Yes everyone has their own opinion on what failed but very little constructive conversation will come out of this thread. The poll has at least one title in it that hasn't even released yet so it won't help the discussion either. Closing the thread.
