Honestly with a skill set like that especially never backing down, having trouble with teamwork and raging you probably don't want to do competitive gaming as much as you think you do. Essentially you're going to make people hate you, including your teammates, doing stuff like that. I would say a solo game at best like SC2 but with any sort of lack of execution you probably won't do very well ever.

It seems like something turn-based is the way to go for you; any real time game requires execution for you to be competitive, while in turn-based games it is all about decisions.

I would say Chess is the perfect game for you, but the amount of theory and experience you need there to just become a player taken seriously by others is staggering: don't expect less than 5 years of very-very hard work before actually playing well. I suspect you need something more... err... "lightweight"?

I don't know much about modern turn-based games, except for a few board games, so you might need to ask other people, but I am pretty sure they are the best way to go for you.

Shootmania, it's more of a "futuristic sport" kinda of a game where no one actually dies. Reminds me of paintball irl but in a virtual world.

I've been civ 5 with 2 friends once a month or so for a while now (some serious logistics problems with a 9 hour time difference) and we're looking for something else to play now. The problem is we play very different games usually, one friend loves strategy games and used to play shooters at a fairly competitive level, my other friend enjoys... I never really did figure that out, but he's not the difficult one. I usually enjoy rpgs and fun multiplayer games.

    Anyway, a few rules:
We have very different skill levels, the game should either be co-op, simple or compensate in some way.
The game can not have region locks
Must be on PC and run well on a laptop.

    Any suggestions?
I don't think this matters nearly as much as you think it does.

Is there any game similar to Fallout 3/NV, pref. on PS3/4. Bored while waiting for Watch Dogs

i don't play much multiplayer myself, but some popular co-op games would be:
    • Borderlands I & II (open-world-ish fps, rpg)
    • Trine II (puzzle platformer, rpg)
    • Magicka (offically "action rpg" but it's rather unique and feels more like a parody on these genres)
    • Sanctum I & II (fps, tower defense)
    • Torchlight II (diablo-style action rpg).

there's also a mod ("Forged Alliance Forever") for Supreme Commander (rts) and its standalone expansion Forged Alliance that supposedly allows the campaign to be played in co-op, among other things.

that depends on what you mean by "similar". there are some other shooters in a post-apocalyptic setting, but i don't think there's one that matches the open world of Fallout NV, although Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and its two standalone expansion packs Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat do have a semi-open world and also some rpg elements.

    no idea about consoles, though.

Fallout NV also had (and to a degree still has) a huge modding community that might provide you with additional content -- provided you play on pc and are willing to put some time into finding, installing and setting up mods you would like.

Just note: it's designed as a multiplayer game, so if, for some reason, you want to play it single player, some maps are simply ridiculous.

In any regard, I'd definitely recommend you purchase this weeks Humble Bundle, it's got some good multiplayer games (it's active for ~3 days, as of writing, don't miss out!).

i prefer it over Sanctum as well, but it's two player only -- the poster i was responding to plays in a team of three ;P

luckily that's the needed number for Trine 2, though, which requires exactly three players.

Oops, saw co-op / multiplayer / etc, and immediately thought two. D'oh. Don't mind me.

I think Diablo series should suit all of you. Don't know about Diablo 3, but Diablo 2 was incredibly fun in coop mode, and, since there are 3 of you, you can set up an interesting combination of classes. The game doesn't rely on skill much, so everyone, from complete casuals to hardcore pros, can have a fun experience.

Continuing along this idea, I'd suggest Path of Exile, which is an indepentedanly developed rogulelike very much along the lines of D2. It has several unique improvements, and is still being developed.

If you want something more sci fi like or actiony, try Warframe. You can develop your character indefintely and there's a huge amount of flexibility and customization involved. It has randomly generated levels, tons of loot, and extreamely fun.

Both games are F2P, and can be played over steam.

Long time lurker here, looking for a new long term game to play. Long term meaning no real / easy to reach ending. The thing I enjoy most is a feeling of getting more powerful, meaning I really like leveling, upgrading, learning crafting recipes etc. My PC is a couple of years old, so graphic-intense stuff like todays shooters are out .

Last couple of games I played or at least tried out:

-LoL for 3 years, finally got boring. And I HATE dependancy on teammates in LoL, might be the horrible community though. Involved the right amount of required skill for my taste (Dota being a bit too much on the mechanics-side I feel).

-MMOs&ARPGs: Mainly WoW, D2 and D3. I usually lose interest after the leveling phase is over because just farming the same raids/dailies for gear upgrades (no more new skills etc.) tires me quite fast. Only PvP'd in Wow and disliked the many hotkeys, the cc, the dependancy on addons and my enemies getting healed. Tried EVE for a couple of hours but kinda missed the goal/motivation to do stuff. I really enjoyed the Median XL mod for D2 because you get really great upgrades even in the lategame, however it got too hard for me at some point (Same reason I don't play Dark souls ).

-Strategy: I still watch starcraft2 tournaments, but the required skill is just way out of my league since I don't want to train for years do be able to do something that at least resembles good play. I really like TCGs, but haven't yet found a good online implementation. Hearthstone is too random for my taste, still it's the only one which has a really good interface as far as I know. Tried Civ5 for a bit as well, but I missed a kinda of "long-term growth" - if the game is over, you start at 0 again, you don't unlock stuff or something. Played the browser game Swords and Potions 2 as well, really liked it until they introduced lots of customers which take years to level up.

-FPS: I enjoyed TF2, Planetside 2 and CoD-BO for a while, but motivation dwindeled as well. In TF2 I did not feel I was upgrading anything, CoD enraged me way too often, in Planetside2 I missed the goal/motivation after a while. (Re-)conquering the same areas over and over for rewards I didn't really sense didn't feel much like an accomplishement.

I think I still tried out a bunch more (PoE, Minecraft, Smite,...), but I already wrote more than I intended to . Any game suggestions are welcome!

have you played Skyrim (open world rpg)? if your pc can handle it, it would probably be worth a try. it has a lot of stuff to keep you occupied for quite a while, and the absolutely massive modding community gives options to alter almost every aspect of it and/or add even more content, if you're willing to invest the time into finding mods you like and setting everything up correctly.
the same is true for Fallout: New Vegas (open world shooter/rpg mix) with the advantage of lower hardware requirements.

other games that you can sink quite a lot of time in, if you have the patience needed to really get into them:
    • X3: Reunion and its two standalone expansions Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude (space flight/strategy sandbox, also some good mods)
    • Total War series, especially Shogun II and its second expansion Fall of the Samurai (turn based strategy with real time combat, also some good mods)
don't bother with the newest one, Rome II, though.
    • Crusader Kings II (grand strategy with focus on family legacy)
    • Anno 1404 and 2070 (strategy, city builder)
    • XCOM: Enemy Unknown (turn based tactics) and its expansion Enemy Within
doesn't provide quite as much game time as the other ones i mentioned, but still more than most games. or you could wait for the release of the updated Long War mod (Enemy Within version currently in beta) which provides more content and, as the name suggests, play time.
    • Kerbal Space Program (rocket science kind-of-simulation, but still in early access) if you like experimenting and/or planning, to see how far you can get. also mods :D

  16. #1936
KSP is probably one of the funnest sandbox games out there. You can build anything from interplanetary spaceships to space bases to mobile bases to helicopters, etc, through a Spore esque interface. And ofcourse, mods from the Kerbal Spaceport (which will soon transfer over to Curse mods).

    Speaking of which...Spore...

Spore has had some...what was it; 5, 6 years now worth of mods developed? Awesome game. You can build your own civilizations and levels, and there is a massive, on going RP event that is played out through fan created Spore events, all with it's own thousands of years of lore, and is still going. Also, the game is dirt cheap now, you can buy the game and all of the DLC (including the Dr. Pepper parts) for 10$ at the nearest gamestop.

Looking for good Video Games on PC that have Werewolves/Vampires/Hybrids!

Hey all been looking for any good Vampire/Werewolf/Hybrid games. Games where I can play as one of those would be great. Have always loved Vampire/Werewolves/Hybrids since I was young. Not a Twilight fan, but I loved Angel, and Buffy and I love The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Supernatural. Just wanted to get some ideas on if anyone knows of any decent games. Specifically on PC as well! Thank you ahead of time!

Not that many (good) games out there that come with werewolves and vampires, especially if you want to play as one. Only thing that comes to mind is Skyrim, and the Vampire Masquarade game.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...re_video_games

Decent enough list, you'll have to sort through it, as not all of them are on PC.

    http://store.steampowered.com/search...2&term=vampire

And here's a bunch of vampire games on Steam.

If you want a game with them just in it, I'd recommend Skyrim with the Dawnguard DLC.

(Also, these are just vampire games, I cannot attest to quality or werewolf involvement.)
