Did anyone in Beta know if Pandaria's rep worked the same as Cata? Via quests and tabards?

no they will be just like that valor items at the vendors now you will have to get the required rep for the item.

Mists of Pandaria Faction Quartermasters
Tonight's update added quartermasters for the four factions that reward Valor Points from their daily quests. All prices listed are before any discounts.

The weekly Valor Point cap is 1000, which can be reached by doing daily quests (~150+ VP per day), Random Dungeons (60 VP per day), Scenarios (30 VP per day), Challenge Modes (40-60 VP), and raiding.

Just quests. There is no tabards in Mist reps. Generally you are able to get 1000 - 1500 rep a day (modified by guild perk) depending on the reputation you are working on. Of the ones available on Beta currently, I usually was able to finish all of the dailies in 2-3 hours time. August and Golden will probably take the longest to reach Revered since there is no leveling quests that add to this rep. Shadopan you will probably hit Honored after you clear out Kun-Lai and Steppes. Klaxxi, somewhere between friendly and Honored by the time you clear out Dread Wastes.

Correction, Golden Lotus does have a 3-4 leveling quest, but nothing really to go upon until level 90.
