    It's good to have friends
I met a guy once who was blind and played Legend of the Five Rings (a collectible card game).

I can see how you would play a computer game blind, but how do you play a card game blind?!
Nostalgia is the hollow remnants of memories long gone.

Braille? No, seriously. Perhaps he has friends who put Braille indentations on the backs of the cards, so he could read them. Yes, it would provide the downside that he'd know what he's drawing before he draws it, but that just means the other player has to stay on his toes.... so to speak.

I think it's admirable that they're willing to go that extra mile so Ben can continue to enjoy a game he played before losing his eyes.

Not on the backs, on the fronts. He had all his cards in sleeves (which is pretty standard practice with CCGS), all with Braille stickers on the front telling him what was the card he had just picked up. As such, he could only "read" the card once he drew it, so it didn't give him an advantage. And, of course, his opponent had to be always telling him what card he has just played or what action he had just performed.
Speaks volumes about the guy's dedication and about how good friends he has.

My cruel thought was "i bet his dps is terrible" so I nosily went from his name to guild to looking him up on WoL. 45k on madness, nothing to sneeze at O.o, he wouldn't be any where near the bottom in my guild. then considering he's blind it's just amazing

Ahhh. After a shitty LFR, it is nice to see such compassion and kickassness in the community. I hope they have many more years enjoying the game with each other!

That is extremely awesome, I am glad he can still enjoy the game even after what happened.
Tis a shame what did happen though =(.

As much as this is a nice heart warming story, from some of the groups I've been in he's not the only blind person playing
