Never heard of someone washing their hands like that, but it sounds kinda bad.

I find myself doing stuff in sertain ways tho. For eksample i can't use a hoodie without making sure the hood lies in a symetrical "shape" or what i should call it, on my back/shoulders. And that applies to other people aswell, if i see somone with the hood laying in a weird way, like most of it on 1 side it drives me mad. Same about other clothes/items/etc.... Like i always make sure my keyboard is in a straight paralell (Thats what it's called?) line with the edge of my desk, and same with my mouse-pad.
This applies to a lot of things i do when i think about it.... when i'm doing the dishes i have to put same kind og cups etc. together and they have to be standing perfectly in a line/next to eachother.

But yeh, that was my "problems"... could this be the same kind of stuff as the hand washing?
(PS: I also suffer heavly from RLS, something other people in my family comment when the whole cough is vibrating because of me. Altho i don't realise i do it myself )

ocd doesn't just come "from nowhere", although it can seem like it does. sometimes people won't develope ocd until later in life is all. perhaps when you first started doing this it was controllable and you were like "well, why not?", but over time it grew stronger and became an unresistable urge.

I'd suggest just talking to a doctor ocd isn't that bad to live with I have tourettes and ocd personally (and add) which don't always combine well (I'll tic cause of my tourettes then cause of my ocd I have to keep ticing until I get it right :/), but it's not horrible and medicines can really help with it.

also for some more natural methods try meditation. also a method to conquering ocd is when you get the urge to do something, pinch yourself really hard, or just something fairly uncomfortable that you hate having done. nails on a chalkboard, anything. this works the same way it does with dogs, your mind will begin to associate washing your hands more than a few times a day, when needed, with something you don't like and it will slowly go away. although that doesn't work 100% of the time it's something to consider.

Actually yes it is, if you have the will power. I used to have this OCD when i was a child that made me twitch my neck and face and i also used to make kind of a "hmph" sound with my throat. It started to annoy and me and to be so embarrassing that i decided to stop it. It took me a LOT of willpower and quite a big part of a year to make them stop, but i did it. I do still have very mild version of those even today after 25 years from when i stopped, but it's basically impossible to notice or hear them when you are around me.
that's not the same for everybody though. also that doesn't sound like ocd that sounds a bit like tourettes, twitching your neck and making sounds with your throat could have been tics brought on by tourettes. just a thought, it could be ocd, but it could've also been a tic as well.

10-20 times per day is not too much, clean hands ftw.

They weren't involuntary so it basically can't be tourettes. And certainly not everyone can stop OCD they have, but my point is that it still is possible and i would urge a person to try very hard before going to a doctor or taking medicine.

So to the OP, you CAN stop it without any help, it certainly isn't easy, but you can do it if you put your mind to it
I knew someone with this problem. It would stop him mid sentence and the like. I always thought it was a brain condition in his case and not OCD.

Have you done something that would make you feel unclean in some sort of moral way? XD

There's millions of germs and bacteria on everything we touch, a little bit of water ain't gonna stop them.
Washing your hands after going to the bathroom and such is mainly to stop you passing Your germs onto other people.

I don't think MMO-Champion is the right place to discuss such matters. I suggest you seek the help of medical professionals (my first place to go would be my family physician). He/She will then (if necessary) assign you to a specialist!
