Stephen Hawking
Michio Kaku
Neil degrasse Tyson
Brian cox, Stephen Hawking and Neil Degrasse Tyson.
Stephen Hawking obviously
Edward Witten (another famous theoretical physicist / mathematician)
Andrew Wiles (a mathematician, gave a proof for Fermat's Last Theorem)
To easy seeing the comments... :P
Anyway, here's some awesome people. Not all purely "scientists" per say though.
- Sir Ken Robinson
- Robert Winston
- Joy S. Reidenberg
- Michio Kaku
There's more but I forgot their names... also, a lot where already named by others.
Oh, also i'd like to add my first cousin! She is a neuro-scientist, doing work on Alzheimer among other things, she is still early in her career. But she is one of my idols ^_^

Oops, skipped the part about "living". Those three are all dead.
I think your requirement of 'famous' is flawed. I know many 'famous' scientists that are not in the media spotlight, but have done so much more for their respective fields of science that the primarily listed ones here. The only exception to that would be Prof. Stephen Hawking.
My 'famous' living scientists would be
Prof Stephen Hawking
Prof An Pang Tsai (person who discovered the only thermally stable binary quasicrystal, which in turn has led perfect structural solutions being calculated for this form of solid matter)
Sir Andre Geim (person who discovered a way to separate sheets of Graphene to such a degree that it is now possible to easily isolate a sheet of graphene one atom thick)
RETH
Neil deGrasse Tyson was the one i was thinking of but couldn't for the life of me remember the name >_<
Stephen Hawking (well duh)
Neil Degrasse Tyson
Richard Dawkins
Lawrence Kraus
Michio Kaku (parallel worlds, amazing book!)
