Must have been the focus on Laurel and Thea ruining the rest of the episode.

Oh wait, that's been every episode, ever.

The best thing about the Flash is the fact it doesn't have Laurel of Thea.

I've always disliked Laurel, but Thea's fun enough. I'd put her ahead of Iris for sure.

I find Iris a lot better this season

She hasn't really DONE anything. I mean, it was amusing with her jumping from the building, but meh.

Thea pulls off "nuts" pretty well so far I think.

Thea is acted well enough. A little over the top for my taste but she does a fine enough job. Shes just too physically tiny to ever be taken seriously. And Arrow at the start was trying to be like batman with being more realistic. Now they've gone full blown superpowers I don't think they care about realism at all now.

And when I see say realism I mean a fantasy setting based on realism. Batman universe has done it the best out of anything Ive seen from superheroes.

Iris can be really unbearable and almost ruin episodes but she hasnt had much screen time this season and what she has done in s2 has been ok.

    Laurel is the worst period.

Actually my biggest disappointment with Speedy was that she didn't keep a sword with her. It's bad enough when Green Arrow uses a bow for everything, but gets meh when everyone does. Arsenal had some sticks at least.

I mean, every TV show has the RPG conceit of going from level 1 to level 50 in the time it takes to get the XP. SO I don't even notice the sudden rise of power anymore, but I mean, she trained with Merlyn in swords for a long time not a bow.

1000% agreed with this... Would have been awesome to have her as the Melee specialist in the team, then you've got Diggle with his gun and of course Green Arrow has his bow.

Also, I don't think she really overacts that much. She's been quite extreme in this season so far because she's playing crazy, she's got to sell it.

They should also have Arrow doing stuff that isn't straight shooting to justify using a bow instead of a gun, but I think that ship has sailed...

Why are we thinking the Dark Archer wouldn't have trained Thea on bow again?

Less lethal, more precise, and he's said it before he's better with the bow.

Because literally every training montage with the two of them was using swords.

I know some Arrow fans may not like The Flash, which make this an interesting quote from Stephen Amell regarding crossovers this year:

Here’s an excerpt from what Amell said about the crossover episodes:

“Last year was designed so that if you were a fan of one show or a fan of the other show, you could enjoy 108 of Flash and 308 of Arrow independent of one another. It’s not the case this year. If you put them back to back on one night, they would run like one two-hour episode of television. In fact, most of the Flash episode takes place in Star City, and most of the ‘Arrow’ episode takes place in Central City. We have a common villain, which was not the case last year, and just in general, we’ve done an excellent job of weaving not just two shows, but three shows together.”

Eh, she probably did, sure. Most of his training seemed more geared towards preparing her mentally rather than a particular weapon, and she did kill Sara with a bow, afterall.

BUT, I think he was also preparing her mostly for confronting the League and sword was paramount.

In any case, really I just want her to be more varied (though I really loved that shot of them all dropping through the window and Speedy/ Arrow nocking an arrow at the same time), and Arsenal had his sticks, so it just makes sense. I can totally understand that he's Green Arrow and uses a bow and arrow, but they've also really gotten into this mode of acting like the bow is some optimum weapon. Especially Speedy & Arrow clearing the room in pursuit of Anarky, it just highlighted the sillyness.

Her own lover doesn't want that, and you've seen the ramifications of a near-death healing in Thea.

And then why exactly does Malcolm change his mind? To appease Thea's conscience? What the fuck does that even mean? Unless he's going to sacrifice himself to Sarah (blood rage cured by killing the one who hurt you), that makes little to no sense. And Malcolm Merlyn doesn't seem to be that kind of dude.
Was probably thinking to use the pit on himself after having Sara cleanse herself maybe.

Unfortunately that potential plan has gone pear shaped because of Nissa.

    Laurel is terrible.

Bring on Legends of Tomorrow and the next episode of the flash that both look better than this shlock.

Unpopular Opinion Puffin: I like Laurel's Canary better than Sara's. Remember how we were talking about insta-Level 50 above? At least Laurel hasn't reached that point.

That said, outside of costume she annoys me.

We had, what, three maybe four montages over a period longer than six months? I'm sure they found time for some bow work.

That reminds me of my biggest gripe in the series: it takes roughly 45 minutes to get from Starling City to Nanda Parbat.

They didn't need bow work, if you go back to season 1 Thea already had a shitload of Archery trophies and whatnot, even without any Malcom time Thea Queen is a badass archerboss. AT LEAST as good as Oliver, and that's without any Malcom training.

That's not the point though... The point is why did they show her training with swords and ONLY swords, if once she takes up the Speedy mantle she's going to be another archer .

And yeah the whole "And now we're in Nanda Parbat" thing is REALLY stupid... Isn't it supposed to be like 1/2 a world away or something?

The mystical Nanda Parbat, as well as the holy Plateau of Dueling Ras, exist outside of space and are an hour from everywhere. It really helps keep down Assassin Transport costs.

It draws on the same source as the God of Masks, an entity that exists in the DC Universe and obfuscates appearance completely with only the smallest domino mask or pair of reading glasses. It's the real reason the Green Lantern movie did so poorly. Someone recognized him, and the God was offended.
