It's not needed but it'd be nice to have it.
If they do it, it should be done in this way:
Only implemented next expansion and make them really really hard to level up. Like really hard.
Same thing for reputation.

I do remember original lockpicking and it was terrible and not fun at all. Much like most of those other things you described. They want people to spend their time doing fun things, not grinds, grinds are not as appealing to a large playerbase. It's a business not a process of mental anguish.
This is in fact a perfect reason to make cooking, fishing and archaeology account-wide. When it's an established fact that nobody ever needs to raise any of those professions more than once, then why not make it so nobody ever actually needs to raise them more than once?
There's only 1 daily where I see a hindering, and that's the healing of the whelps during the serpent cloud dailies..
Solutions: Either skip it, or group with someone who heals em. Counts for everyone in the group.
Other than that, a definite NO, to act wide professions, even the secondary ones.
If you can't handle progressing alts, then simply don't roll an army of them. Compared to the past, getting to max skill is now rather trivial anyway.
Blizzard really doesn't and shouldn't hand out everything left and right.

You don't NEED any secondary profession at all.. never have, never will..
The profession dailies in JF are only there to remind everyone that there are secondary profs...
You can perfectly live without them.
If they're trivial then there really shouldn't be any complaints if they become BoA. Those that think they're pointless won't care and those that enjoy alts will enjoy
screw secondary profs wanna boa rep factions when exalted is reached hate dailys (or tabards dunno why they no created them for mop factions)
(wasnt able to skill archeology over 300 till today
You won't miss something you don't care for
I know a lot of people who never maxed any secondary professions, because they can "just buy food off the AH for buffs" "arch is boring" "Fishing is pointless". etc.
I think it should be at least a buff towards progress on alts if you are leveling one on your main. Maybe 10% per expansion skill level. So if you are at Vanilla 10%, TBC 20% etc.
Secondary professions are required to do half of the Order of the Could Serpent Dailies. Sure you can use your main or w/e toon your fisher/cook is for the fish cake dailiy quest that is available everyday. However you can not use a different toon to do the bandage quest which requires you to heal up the baby could serpents with lvl 550+ bandages. You also can not use a different toon to do the archaeology quest which is also available everyday. And the quest for fishing up 10 w/e of those fish are called cant be done on another toon either, as the fish are only available if u have the quest in your logs and they are soulbound. So yes, if you want to get rep with the Order of the could Serpent on an alt in a timely manner then secondary proffesions being account wide would be nice.
Why does everything has to be BoA? I really don't get it.
Surely those are secondary professions, and are not needed, but I also want a reason to log on a specific char to make something, even if it's for secondary professions. It feels like having a main (if all your secondarys are on your main ofc)..
You need a skill of 500 to level Windwool bandage skill up.
50 - 60 cloth are sufficient to get to 550 and to use them.
And for the quest, like said before.... You can group up and have someone else heal em.
Professions are part of a toons personal progress. Thats why they shouldn't be acct wide.
Should you level cooking? Probably on one toon would be enough... it saves you money for buying the food at the AH.
Should you level first aid? That one should actually do on every toon, unless they are a healer.
Should you level archeology? Unless you want the fun perks, and achievements, no need to touch it at all.
And even fishing is trivial now. Faster casts. no more zone skill dependent fishing.. Schools work all the time too...
Plus the skill up proc between skills is higher too now..
All four professions have been trivialized into the ground already. Everyone who plays for some time knows that.
And now since it's trivial, one can still not be bothered to level them up somehow?

It's been asked for already.
Blizzard could save a ton of money by simply making the next expansion work like the PTR (pick the max level of your choice), and have the content be nothing but new dungeons and raids, with portals to them all in each major city.
This community would eat it up.
