    @Ravingmad
Check the trinket section. You don't have a on use trinket for crusade which is our main source of dmg. 35% crit is more than enough, go for more versatility, but still better to sim and confirm that.

As for VB, that highly depends if you consider this as a HP generator, or a source of dmg boosted with 35% crit, and 2x relics for example. - SIM IT and check what is better for you.

I'm looking for help regarding one of the raiders on my team. His DPS is fairly low for his ilvl and I'm hoping to help him improve. Specifically, I'm looking at H-Ursoc.

    His armory:

    Recent Logs:

Thanks in advance for any insight anyone might have!

    1) Needs to get a Faulty Countermeasure. Even the 840 version will be significantly better than either of his trinkets.

    2) Didn't Crusade on CD. He used it at 0:10 and 3:15. Could have fit another in with proper use.

    3) Only had Might on himself.

Found a fire-relic with shit effect that is 2 ilev higher than my current one (which got 10sec plus on wings)... to swap or not to swap? Does the wep-dmg increase outperform the 10% AW, I'm leaning towards "no"?

His trinkets are garbage. Quite literally useless. (for reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...view?sle=true#, this is just a general idea of trinkets though, it will depend on his own stats and gear)

Only 2% of his damage is Blessing of Might. He should be using 3x Blessing of Might instead of 1 (Luckily this mechanic will be removed in 715).

He cast 9 Templar Verdicts outside of his Judgment window. This should be 0. (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...tbuffs=-197277)

He wasted an insane amount of holy power. 39 Holy Power lost because of overcapping. This wouldve been 13 more Templar Verdicts (most important ret skill) he couldve done (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...l=109&source=3).

Crusade should also be used on cd, he could've gotten another 17ish seconds out of a 3rd crusade this specific fight. The only time you dont have to use it on cd, is when the killtime is shorter than 4 minutes, as he only gets to use 2 during the fight then anyway, so might as well pick a good time for the 2nd.

Potion of the Old War will beat Prolonged Power by a fair margin on singletarget fights.
Mark of the Hidden Satyr neck enchant will be better than Mark of the Claw.
    No food buff.
    No cloak enchant.

His stats seem quite alright, although he could probably use more versatility.

He generally just doesnt know the basics of ret. There is an ingame rotation helper for ret to give a general idea of how he should be playing. It should by no means be tunneled, but it helps with getting a feeling for the spec. https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/hekili

Sorry for being so harsh, I hope it helps though.

I can't remember the exact number, but the AW trait is worth somewhere around 23 item level.

Ah cool, there are calculations like that? I'll google the exact number, thanx!

Thank you very much for the detailed information! I'll take what you've said back to him.

Hello. iam new to MMO forums, but a guildie did tips me about this site to get my DPS on track. I think i do something wrong too often and are looking for some answers maybe here. My DPS is fairly low for my ilvl and I'm looking for a way to improve.

    Armory:
    eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ravencrest/Veyaiko/simple

    Logs:
    warcraftlogs.com/rankings/character/18401231/10/

Iam struggling on some fights more than others, but iam afraid i do something wrong about tallent choices and that i fail in my rotation too often.

    Hi!

So I'm a low parsing 882 retri looking for some advice and help.

    Log:
    warcraftlogs.com/reports/wxDn3FrqXQNv1ybT#fight=18&type=damage-done&source=18

    Armory:
    eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/the-maelstrom/Khendjer/simple

    The issues I know of:
I hate messing up on mechanics, which probably causes me to "play safe" a few times. Like when Nythendra sleeps, I'd rather back away than get stacks of corruption. Obviously if there's a safe spot, I stick to the boss.
However, on the fight I linked, I am pretty much smacking the boss the entire time, except for one bramble-clear and one BoP on tank.

    My thoughts:
So I am thinking this has to do with my stats. I am 90% basing my gear on simcraft, which I know can be faulty at times.
Rotation wise I don't really see it being any more efficient than it is right now. I use Hekili as a helper, whilst engaging brain.

I would greatly appreciate any help you guys can offer - please feel free to be as harsh as you want.

    eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/kazzak/Lagad/simple

    I'm at 30 traits atm

For starters I see you only have 9 Cordona kills.

That FCM trinket ain't going to drop if you ain't going in there. lol

Hey guys, quick question. I see some rets with really high crit ratings(like 33%). Is that how much crit we should be going for? I thought it was haste up til 25%ish and then mastery?

  15. #1235
    Crit=Vers
    Haste 20-22%
    Mastery

I'm pretty happy with my current performance, only doing M+ and normal and heroic EN/ToV though (guild is too small for mythic raids) but I know there is room for improvement.
So, besides the points I mentioned, would using more addons increase my performance? 1-5/rarely 6 are used on keyboard, everything else I click with the mouse (interrupt and stun are hotkey'd to mouse, at least that's something).
It doesn't provide a DPS boost directly. A competent Ret player without the extras can deal as much damage as a competent Ret player with the extras.

However, it does make things easier. A good weakaura setup gives you access to all relevant information within your direct field of view. It saves time having to look down at your action bar, or up/down at your character profile or buff/debuff range.
Same for mouseovers, I do believe they improve reaction time. A mouseover Blessing of Freedom compared to clicking the person, clicking your skill, is just faster.

Keybindings are crucial imo. I bind 1-4, shift 1-4 and then I use the thumb buttons on my mouse for almost everything else. Every key I use is readily available. I have played with this setup for years now and I don't have to think about it anymore. I use a similar key setup on all my characters and specs so I don't lose out on muscle memory when playing something else.

TLDR: I firmly believe all 3, weakauras/keybindings/mouseover macros, are crucial for improving your play. It improves reaction time and gives quick access to necessary information.

I think I could use some help maximizing my dps output. I’ve mained a resto druid up until Legion so this is all new to me. J

I'd post a link to the warcraftlogs but it won't let me post a link. I'm on Sargeras in Merciless (not sure if that's enough info).

According to the logs, I’m performing pretty low in comparison to other ret pallies my ilvl. I looked through the logs and one of the things I think I can be better about is keeping judgement up. Do you start off with judgement first? Or wait to build holy power then throw it up? Trying to figure out how to best keep the debuff on the target while I’m using my holy spenders.

Crusade – Should I just pop this every time I can? I.E. the beginning of the fight and thereafter? Or should I save it for hero? Try to time the second one for hero?

I’m still trying to get the faulty countermeasures trinket. No success as of yet (and of course my group hates VOW).

Legendaries: I currently have Sephuz’s Secret, Justice Gaze and Aggramar’s Stride. I got Sephuz’s Secret and Justice Gaze first so that’s what I’ve been using. I only have an 850ilvl mastery/haste helm to replace Justice Gaze if I wanted to atm. Which of the 3 do you think are best to use? I’m thinking I should keep Sephuz’s since I can proc the haste with interrupts with the changes in the new patch. I think the movement speed increase is nice on the boots (possibly keeping me in combat longer?) but then having Hammer of Justice up more often is also appealing but mostly only for mythic+ cc/interrupt not necessarily damage output. Any ideas?

Thank you for your input and suggestions!

Mastery is last for ret, even behind versatility. Haste>crit>vers>mastery.

Hey everyone, Just hoping some of you can take a look at my parses and tell me what I can do better. I know my rotation and am simming myself for stat weights but I cant seem to get good parses. How can I be a better Ret?
