currently restoring a laptop backup, what are the next steps?

i've created a few threads before about wanting to buy myself a new laptop, but i've decided to delay that and instead reinstall my laptop using the recovery disks I made right after the installation was completed, over 2 years ago.

after the recovery process is finished, what are the next steps to do?

Did that image have any drivers installed? If so, download driver sweeper, get new ones for all your parts (Mobo, GPU etc), then go to the best website ever: www.ninite.com, and download what you need.
