As for supports, yes, but that's like, kinda.
A champion like Janna and Sonna, their role is to support but in Dominion, instead of going items that supports usually take, like Aegis, Shurelya's, etc, they go with AP or tanky/supportish AP items.
Although, it's not really bad to go full support, as long as you know what you're doing and it depends on what champion you're bringing.
For example, on Janna, it's a lot better to go full Ap or tanky ap instead of going supportish items, because her AP ratios are surprisingly very good, especially her E(shield) and her ultimate heals quite a lot if you get AP.
