Sunbroing gives you a humanity if you and the host kill the boss. Humanity increases curse resistance (meaning you have to spend like 20 seconds inside the curse cloud to become cursed if you have like 10 humanity in your bar)

Well, I tried using humanity once, just to get some help for the boss, got invaded, like, instantly and was one shot before my phantom arrived.
Then I got cursed and couldn't get any more humanity.

Anyway, in Blighttown, I walked through some white fog after descending from Upper Blighttown. Any idea how far away from the next bonfire I was?

Guess I better go get rid of the curse first.

Well, you don't technically have to be human to get the curse resistance. It just has to be in your bar (ready to be used for kindling/reviving)

Once you hit the actual swamp, you don't have much farther to go for the bonfire. Just turn to the right and run that way. The next bonfire is underneath a little waterway marked with an arch.

And Naro. You don't have to be human to be summoned. You only need to be if you want to invade/summon help for yourself. So feel free to farm humanity off the Gaping Dragon. Just plop your summon sign down outside the door to the bonfire, and you should be summoned fairly quickly.
