Be nice if they fixed..anything. But then this IS Sony. The odds of that happening are almost as good as EA making a decent game.

There are!
Not sure about the Engineer ones, but for the infiltrator you can get a couple different versions of sniper rifles, including semi-auto ones. There's also two scout rifles meant for a bit closer ranges.

Wow. I just found the problem with Reds sniper. Its damage is ACTUALLY pathetic. Look at the loadout page.

The game still functions mostly okay, and it's free, and it's one of the first of it's kind, if not the first. So I won't gripe too much. At least for a few months. Then they should of had plenty of time to fix some things

Just their normal shoot shoot weapon.
But no, no classes have more than one utility gun.

It's not necessarily a problem. A rapid fire Sniper Rifle is extremely good for long ranged covering fire. You can pin down or force people into cover for large amounts of time with that.

Because one-shotting through scientific shields and armor knives would be silly. And as far as I know, you can't upgrade it.
