What do you think about the work of Hans Zimmer?

    His best work!

I kid a bit, I think he's great, dont really care if his work is overused and too mainstream now. Can't beat Morricone though.

I know a lot of people who cannot stomach him, but I love his work, he's one of my favourites in terms of epic scores.

Gladiator has one of my favourite soundtracks.

Nuff said, as far as I am concerned. Also, the score for Gladiator.

One of my favorites of all time. I don't care much for his action-film tracks though.

    I prefer Danny Elfman's style of music... has far more atmosphere;

Loved them both, always loved Danny Elfman. Batman was either the first or second movie I ever remember seeing, and his score mesmerised me as a child.

Amazing composer. I learned about him around the time I watched Gladiator.

I actually rather like contemporary composers to be honest, while Zimmer is more focussed on movies it does add another layer.

Another great composer to watch is

Loved his work on Inception. Love most of his work elsewhere.

His collaborations can be pretty tasty, too.

When I think of The Dark Knight trilogy, his name is one of the first names I think of. Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, Heath Ledger, and Hans Zimmer.

My favourite score of any movie, and one of my favourite movies.

And I can't listen to Now We Are Free from Gladiator... I just get overwhelmed.

I think it's kind of hit and miss. Some themes are really good and well done, others just seem kind of derivative or lazy.

John Williams is still number one in my book. Zimmer is 3rd behind Danny Elfman.

Not in a million light years.
He's a film music composer, not classical music.
I like some of Zimmer's music. He's good and succesful at what he does.
Although some of it tends to get too similar, with this "epic" sound made of broad strokes that really doesn't have much substance.
