I'm gonna take that as a compliment, but I can see how that might make it really hard to read. Not on a technical level--the language I use is pretty simple--but on an intellectual level. You've got to be paying attention to all the details if you wanna get the most out of it, you can't just breeze through it and expect to pick up on everything.

That said, the story is designed in such a way that even if you don't get all the intellectual shenanigans I have going on, it's still (supposed to be) enjoyable as a raw adventure ponyfic'.

I disagree with this on the principle that I don't want to force anyone to love this, I want it to be self-generated interest/love. But...loving the shit out of it really is the best I can do, isn't it?

Oh, I know. I'm totally fine if you don't like Zephyr--all I ask is that you set that aside and try to really think about and understand why she is the way she is.

But your reader will not contemplate on the personality of the pony if you do not feed them information that will make them love her. I openly admit, for the first like 20 pages I thought Zephyr was a dude because the way she is written. Only through Whimsy's dialog did I deduce that she was in fact female.

I'm not saying that you should re-write it or anything, not at all - It's probably just me failing at catching what's behind the words. But it's something to think about, and a tip if I could ever give one.

And if no one is listening, it's effectively you masturbating. Yeah, it feels great for you, but nobody else wants to see that and it doesn't accomplish anything meaningful.

I'm not judging it by viewercount so much as I'm judging whether it's worthwhile.

I wonder if art is made to accomplish anything meaningful. I've always considered art to be a conversation without words, at least when it comes to status/paintings/classical music etc., and even when it comes to music and prose/literature, it's not about how many love it, but about how much you love it. As a reader.

One of my favorite books is a little danish book series called "Skammeren's Datter", made by a woman no-one outside of Denmark knows. But I still love them so much, because they captured everything that meant anything to me. Would I love it more if everyone in the thread had read it? No. It would be easier to talk about, but sometimes words unspoken are the most honest ones.

What I'm trying to say is, if you write this to please someone other than yourself, I think you're going to hit way more bumps in the road than you normally would, and I think it will become harder and harder to write (And even harder to finish, if I should draw some personal experience into this).

You say you love the fic so much, and can't stop thinking about it, but still you're questioning if it's worthwhile? I don't get that logic.
