Found myself without anything to read, and I haven't read much of the older fics from the fandom. My net is really flickering today, so I'm reading Black and White the times it's down.
Likely going to pick through your recommended reading list for some things
even though I promised Shaed to start of Crisis....

You'd be surprised. I hadn't planned on it at all; it originated as Canzonetta basically just running experiments with water, but as she needed to explain what she was doing/where she was approaching the problem from, it kinda side-evolved into the big-bang hologram.

The moonlight projection thing just came about because I had her in a globe of water droplets, and I thought "Hm. I wonder if she could technically bend enough moonlight to make holograms..."

You just gotta explore. You never know what you'll find--internally or externally. It's one of the reasons I don't want to heavily plan all of BWSD out first--I'll establish basic plot lines and scenes I know need to be there, but I won't go any further than that. I'm exploring stuff too, and while there is quite a bit of leading-the-reader-on, I want them to feel like they're exploring right along with me.

But really, that's awesome.

Sorry. If it helps any, each arc is mostly intended to be its own, self-contained story. There's overarching themes and persistent characters, but (for now) they aren't the focus. That said, when I do finish the whole thing, it'll be released arc-by-arc on a regular schedule (every 2-3 weeks or so, give or take), so your reading experience won't be super different if you read it as I complete each arc, than waiting for me to finish it all before you start reading, if that makes sense.

Early on, there's this quote

The grey-coated cellist who played at the last at the Grand Galloping Gala, the last one before Princess Luna’s mysterious return.

Did you mean she played at the end of the last GGG? You also use "last" again later in the sentence, which disrupts the flow a bit.
