Yes I have. I was exaggerating, but considering how little 40 or 50 damage are, compared to her life, it's not much of a difference.
And gold pine resin barely helps and lasts only so long. Usually it wore of once I get another chance of getting close to her. Well...and they are consumable.

just stand by her side and don't get too greedy with the attacks. when she does that large swing attack you can even roll into her and she'll miss you. And the aoe explosion attack is predictable, when you see she's doing something but not attacking then you just back off. It's a really easy fight, you just mustn't get greedy with attacks and roll out of everything and that's it.

Dohohoho. Get summoned a lot. You'll have TONS of souls to use on consumables. Think Frey's count from fighting Artorias/Kalameet was around 500k souls

And probably a good policy.

Both Artorias and Kalameet are easy to predict, since you can telegraph their attacks pretty much perfectly, specially if you have the cartwheel dodge on.

It's magic.

Let me put it bluntly. My protagonist is an assassin. Half things I conceptualize are immediately followed by "How would they fight [with this]". What fighting there will be will have a lot of time put into making sure it reads and flows wells. Every one of my characters has something or some way they can conduct combat--in Eve's case, she would manipulate targets into positions where thing she's hidden could go to work. My protagonist uses a pair of solid-cloud bands inherited from her mother. The first dragon I introduce breathes motherfuckin' lightning. Very few, if any, of my characters have no way to conduct combat.

The problem is that unlike a lot of other authors, I will not make up a villain or introduce some force of 'evil' just so the 'heroes' have a force they can exterminate with extreme prejudice without incurring moral/karmic backlash. My protagonist is acutely aware that everyone she takes down is someone's sibling, or parent, or child. Life, no matter whose it is, is not something to be taken lightly, and death is not something to be distributed on a whim.

As I've contemplated saying before, the very act of calling something 'evil' is, in itself, evil. When you call someone or something evil, it means they can be mercilessly eradicated and you feel no worse for it. In that sense, there is no 'evil'; no matter how many people that person just killed, you are still countering death with death, and they are still someone's child, or someone's parent, or someone's sibling. Like fate or destiny, evil is, most of the time, a construct authors use for convenience's sake. I will not.
