yeah, i wouldn't use it personally, but i've learned that most people seem to care much less about blurriness than i do.
for example, i use the smart sharpen tool on, like, every sig and avatar i make. it looks so much better, imo.

i generally prefer dark backgrounds in almost all pictures (my current sig is an exception, because it's supposed to feel soft and happy). it doesn't matter too much in this case though, imo, because the picture is rather simple/bland anyway. as was the background.
