Thats neat; level 20 means that it's not strictly a flying mount. Hippogryphs fall into this category, no need to assume it's store only, especially with 3 of them.

Anyone else remember Ghostcrawler's tweet a few months ago about the lack of bat mounts?
I think he said they needed to make a cooler looking bat first, and I wonder if this was in the works when he said it, the cheeky monkey.
Actually I think he said something about a bat needing a walk animation,.... which means this may not be for players.

But maybe they gave it one finally so it elbow walks like a protodrake.

This is the animation list of the new bat model. Basically, there are animations listed that aren't on the old bat model, but right now, they don't do anything. (Anduin has this with two other custom animations too, where the third one does work and it's the "hurt footrest" position, so maybe this is an indicator of walking animation and all that)

Also, there is an epic flying version, and a normal, low level flying version as well as a non-saddled beast version.

Sarcasm aside, I doubt they'll release a blizz store mount this soon after adding the Windsteed.

Holy fucking shit this mount looks SICK! It's like, they were saving all the possible love they could've muster through all of WoW history since the first player asked for a bat mount, then they multiplied it by over 9000, and made this mount. MUST. HAVE. THIS. BAT.

As freaking amazing as the new mounts are, I'd still love to have the dated old bat texture as a mount still.

Wait a minute...I hope to god they aren't replacing all the old bat mounts with these retextures!

As much as I'd love for this to be a store mount (since it's probably the only way I'd ever get my hands on it), the different colors implies either new faction exalted mount or high end raiding/pvp reward.

The black one is wicked, truly the undeads mount that or any warlock,dk and rogue. Pretty much this should be a favorite among the sinister races/class.

I'm pretty sure all the goody goody races wish they could be sinister cause of these mounts.

This doesn't strike me as the sort of thing they would put in the store. Store mounts tend to be...flashier. And have next to nothing to do with the current content, which is not the case when troll bat riders are afoot. The only thing the level 20 requirement tells us anyway is that it's usable as a 60% ground mount. So are carpets and flying machines and hippogryphs and gryphons and wind riders and you get the point. But, with those tiny little hind legs, I really doubt it will have a ground animation substantially different from its flying one.

If it's the reward for having 200 mounts then I'm pretty sure Blizzard are listening to feedback. I asked for this exact thing a few months back (before the 150 mounts achievement). Either way, awesome looking mount.

I would buy one from the store instantly. I love the gold one.
Although I hope it is not a Raider only mount or some rare drop mount.
People who PVP love awesome flying mounts too.
Yet I think exalted rep reward is the most likely case. Blizzard loves their
daily quests and rep grinds this expansion.

Yet I do think that one version of the bat should come from exalted Undercity Rep.
I have wanted that mount ever since I took the first flight path from undercity.

I have not seen anything in the store yet. Also, thanks to everyone for bringing in some info throughout the thread. Honestly, I am hoping there is a quest version, an achievement version and a store version, a bit like the dragons from Pandaria. I would certainly get one for my Gnome to ride
