    Yeah, there was a nationally syndicated radio show in the 90's called Loveline, and one of their bits was to have someone call in and tell them a bizarre news story like the one above and the hosts would have to guess if it had happened in Germany or Florida, because those two places seemed to have the weirdest stuff going on in them. I thought it matched the thread, and knew most people wouldn't get it but those who did would get a good laugh.
