Depp steals the show, his presence is overpowered.

Stallone in fantasy, just no. He's also way too old.

    Leonardo Decaprio as Anduin
We need a 12 y.o. blond boy for that role. Like the fellow from The Hunger Games.

Also would be great to see Milla Jovovich in another fantasy movie. I know she's getting old, but she's a great actress. See her in Joan of Arc.

For the general public its the most available story. I'd make mine crafted after The Frozen Throne. The danger is though to make it too much like other previous fantasy (and sci fi) movies.

Sadly, this is probably the truth. Depp's a great actor and has pulled off a wide range of roles.

I hope they don't use any of that 100 million to hire a "big name" actor that will just distract from the movie itself. Try to get mid tier actors that do a lot of theatre, I'm hoping they get a good tier of british actors similar to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Perhaps younger though.

I'd like to see Patrick Stewart or Leonard nimoy do narration though.

given the length of time it takes to produce and release a film (especially a hundred million dollar one) I would assume there won't be any trilogy, and given WoW's age and place in it's product life it seems like a way for Blizzard to artificially extend it. as stated earlier, people relate to humans rather than CGI creatures so it will likely be focusing on the most humanoid races/lore characters. so for these reasons I'm assuming it will cover a major lore event that directly precedes the particular version of Azeroth that new accounts created after seeing the film will zone into upon it's eventual release date.

    Varian - Ben Stiller
    Bolvar - Owen Wilson
    Jaina - Christine Taylor
    Thrall - Vince Vaughn
    Cairne - Will Ferrell

If Johnny Depp won't do it, but they still need a big star to be a pirate, they can always get Michael Bolton:

Do it like Lord of the rings... 2/3 very known actors and the rest unknowns.

I hope when they say they have finished the script they mean the new director just finished reading Rise of the Horde.

I agree completely. As for Depp, he would make a great Medivh. Depp is great at playing awkward or crazy people who you can't really read or predict. That's Medivh's character in a nutshell, I think it would be perfect. The guys so all over the place and you would need an actor like Depp or someone similar to portray him well.

Also that Varian/Depp pic is great.
The generalist looks outward; he looks for living principles, knowing full well that such principles change, that they develop. It is to the characteristics of change itself that the mentat-generalist must look. There can be no permanent catalogue of such change, no handbook or manual. You must look at it with as few preconceptions as possible, asking yourself, "Now what is this thing doing?" -Children of Dune

    Johnny Dep as a forsaken.
Mila Kunis as Jaina or Valeera (already rumored)
And I'd like to see Kate Beckinsale as Sylvannas. Her dark side in the underworld movies would be perfect.
