9.6 million subscribers for a game many said would be 'dead' by now. I'd say they're doing just fine.
Yes pretend all the losses are in na/eu
I honestly think its the theme of MoP. If it had been a legion expansion with everything 100% the same wed be at 11m atm. MoP while good was the wrong xpac to have after Cataclysm. It will be interesting to see if they can come back from this.
Subscriber Definition: World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an
active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free
month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted
as subscribers.
With that the sub loss could very well be from the eastern market
Que the idiots to start braying how "wow is dying"
que blizzard to bakctrack the best expac since TBC and casual it up for everyone again
Now subtract the gold farmers, bots, and multiboxing accounts... what's the number then?
Waiting on the reasons from the conference call. Only thing that could be speculated based the design shifts coming into 5.2 is that the large focus on dailies and mindless grinds rubbed a large enough of players the wrong way.
We might find out soon. The first large drops was noted to be coming from Europe/US and later quarterly reports stated a larger portion coming from Asia as Blizzard further reduced the already gutted grind in Cata. Europe/US tend to not enjoy grinds and time investment as much as their Asian counterparts. It is not entirely ignorant to think that the larger losses are from Europe/US.

Drop the monthly fee to something worthy of an 8 year old video game, and I'll come back. $8.99 a month is fine.
