Not sure if it's time for a new build. Here's my current system, built in late 2009.

Hard Drive - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Video Card - HIS H485Q1GH Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16
Case - Antec Three Hundred
Power Supply - Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2

I thought about just upgrading to 8 or 16GB memory(though I don't see myself needing 16 in the near future), new 1TB Hard Drive + 120GB SSD, and possibly a new video card. Also, a Blu-Ray Drive..as the Phillips works when it wants to and even opens when it wants to.
But then I look at my motherboard, which has been one of the best boards I've ever bought. The board is going on four years, and while I'm not a "gamer", I want future releases to be playable. Not looking for top of the line. But I'd like breathing room.
I was gonna upgrade my oldest daughter's computer as well. Currently she has a GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H mobo with a Sempron 140 Sargas, 2 GB DDR2 memory. Her hard drive, which I pulled from a notebook seems to be on it's last legs. I was gonna buy a new case for her (using some random eMachines tower with bad air-flow), new drive and possibly step up to a new processor.
Or I could just build me a new system, replace the dvd drive in my current one and give it to my daughter. About the most extensive game she plays is Sims 3.
Thoughts?
