HoG recharges and tracking with WeakAuras?

Just decided to try Demo, regarding the best usage of HoG it says

**Hand of Guldan- The 'correct' way to use Hand of Gul'dan is to wait until there is less then 6s until you get 2 charges of HoG. You then want to use one charge, cast a few spells, and then clip shadowflame right before it runs out so you have ~5s of a one stack shadowflame, then 6s of a 2 stack
shadowflame. Doing this correctly will make Hand of Gul'dan out-preform Chaos Wave virtually always, and makes Chaos Wave pretty useless in PvE.

I am not sure I understand the wording correctly how to use it - I use it the first time at 2 charges, then 6 sec before I get 2 charges, then clipping shadowflame before it runs out, then wait until 6s to the 2nd charge ignoring that I could have refreshed earlier?

Also I would like to create a WeakAuras alert to notify me when there's 6s left before the 2nd recharge....anyone got an idea how as I was not able to find charges there?

The idea is to apply the second stack of HoG to the target before the first stack of HoG drops off. The reason this is attractive is the application of the second stack refreshes the duration of the first stack. Ideally, your first HoG ticks for 5 seconds and then the impact of the second HoG causes the duration to reset such that you get 2 stacks of HoG ticking for another 6 seconds. This nets you a total of 16 ticks of damage instead of 12 (one third more damage). For added fun, if you Metamorphosis before the projectile actually impacts, the Shadowflame Dot gains your Meta damage bonus too.

The aura I use doesn't exactly notify me the ideal time to cast the first charge of HoG but rather tracks the cooldown and available stacks...it should be sufficent even if it isn't what you really want.

In regard to your question. Wait until there is approximately 6secs until both charges are available:
Hand of Gul'dan (charge 1) -> Soulfire/Shadowbolt -> Soulfire/Shadowbolt -> ***Soulfire/Shadowbolt (if you can fit it in) -> Hand of Gul'dan (charge 2)

Hey Kooz, all that means, is that you never want to be capped at 2 charges of HoG but you don't really want to use the first charge before you have less than six seconds left until you gain the second charge. So you want to be able to cast the first charge, then throw off a couple of shadow bolts or a soul fire and a shadow bolt, and then immediately be able to use the next charge of HoG. RIGHT AFTER you use the second charge to refresh the shadowflame dot on your target(s), you want to immediately pop into Meta form, that way by the time the big meteor from HoG lands, it gives the refreshed HoG the buff from Meta form. The reason we don't do it every time, is that there is a 10 second cd between when we can enter Meta and enter it again. (You should have a macro for exiting Meta at any time, rather than waiting for that 10 seconds to pass before you can leave). Hopefully that made sense. The Meta buff to a double stacked shadowflame dot is a pretty significant boost in damage.

Anyway, here is the string I use for weakauras to track HoG charges and the time between charges:

Just go into weakauras and click new => import new string (or something like that) and then copy and paste that in and click done, then a little window should pop up showing the weakaura you're importing and just click ok or whatever it is and you'll have it! It works really, really well for me.

Paste your aura code in a [ code] so it's actually usable. If you do it that way it adds spaces/break in the text and it messes up the import.
