its a bit confusing, but I asume you have BBoY (flex), Toxic Totem (LFR) and PBoI (Flex)? ... than go Black Blood/Bindings ... only change them for there nhc versions. general rule is

Bindings>Black Blood>Totem. iLvl+>iLvl-... with the Exeption of the bindings, even their LFR version is supreme (not the buff, but the passiv)

I play warlock as alt and I often play alt raids on Saturdays. Usually there is one other wlock and we are quite equally skilled while he does have few ilvl more than me. I was checking our galakras hc logs and noticed something where our gameplay is completely different.

He (chaos) uses embers on chaos bolt while I (syopalainen) use them mainly on shadowburn on fight like that. In that particular fight we both had immerseus trinkets while i had cleave trinket and he had garrosh trinket. The thing I'm mostly interested is: which one of us is doing it right? Neither of us play wlock as main and as you can see from damage we aren't too long from each others damage, but abilities we prioritize are completely different.

You are welcome to check other boss fights and give any advice you can give me, but for now I'm interested about that fight since there ability usage is so different.

The thing I'm mostly interested is: which one of us is doing it right?

A huge part of that fight is AoE so you'll be fire and brimstoning a lot, at least when mobs have high hp. When they're low many are dead and you'll resort to shadowburn the remaining adds. Most packs (except snakelady) have enough mobs that you don't want to single target them. Therefore you're likely to use a lot less chaos bolts than shadowburns. I'd say you're the one doing it "right".

Hello! I recently switched to a 25 man guild where I've been getting my ass kicked damage-wise on most fights as destro. IJ parse + armory linked (it's farm for us so we stand in the mortars to emulate a patchwork scenario). The ilvls in the top 5 are all relatively even, between 563-567ish I think (I'm 567 atm).

I know that my damage isn't uncompetitive but I think I'm playing relatively optimally (few mistakes here and there but nothing major in my eyes) so with destro being so overtuned I don't see why I'm not topping the meters. My one theory is that the fight is so short that burst damage classes with good openers (enh shams etc) are doing better than sustain specs like destro. I'm using BBoY and I use it on most fights since I think I'm pretty good at landing 7 + 10 stack chaos bolts each proc, but I also have a KTT to work with. If anyone sees anything I could be doing better I would be very thankful!

1. Your doom damage is low
   - time with trinkets, dont refresh when it is about to run out
   - make sure you have full pandemic duration doom with all buffs/trinkets etc after pull.
2. I don't recommend playing with imp glyph
3. You shadowbolt too much - might be related to too low fury from no imps because of glyph.
4. Your choice of ToC vs soul fire in meta seems really random and meta soul fire dmg is generally low.
   - I prefer to hover around 6-8 molten core procs and then unload in meta when procs/cd are up
   - You should generally always be able to avoid going meta without procs if you do correct mini nukes during trinket procs.
5. Start playing with double dark soul
   - use fel flame/ToC if you need to move
   - plan movement with personal/raid portal
6. You sometimes lifetap way too much
   - aim to end the fight with 10% mana and 0 fury.
7. Exploit adds more
   - more shadowflame for max fury/mc procs
   - get killing blows for free fury
8. Imagine all spells outside of meta do 0 damage and the only way to do damage is to unleash a nuclear explosion in meta with the fury your 0 dmg spells generated.
   - On the logs your damage should be very spiky to the extreme - currently there are lots of mini spikes which is generally not optimal demo play.

My affliction gear is the same as what's currently on armory, with one exception - I remove KTT and put on BBoY.

I'm not really sure what I should be looking for to analyze myself, so I'd appreciate any criticism. I feel like I tend to get a bit overwhelmed keeping dots up on all targets as the fight goes on. Unstable affliction seems to be the biggest culprit; I feel like I need to be soul swapping almost constantly to keep it up.

Hello everyone. I want to ask you about something. When should i swich spec to affliction? I see a lot of locks playing pve with affli spec and they said it should be done at high ilvl.. but when is this high ilvl? ATM i don't have any logs but i'm doing around 250k dps on hc encounters... i think it's a bit low for 563 ilvl so i want to improve. My wish spec would be demo but I know it's playable around BIS gear. So please tell me what to do to improve my dps.

I've been hesitating to post on this forum. But now I'm really wondering if our warlock is regular or way to low and just doing fine because of his class. We are beginning garrosh HC 10m.
Here are 2 logs from 2 different nights. The first one he was on garrosh duty, the second one he did the engineer (he did it well btw).

There is only one (yeah we suck ) good attempt last night, where we're dead in the terrace of the endless spring http://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/...amage&fight=22. With a 6 minutes fight and as many adds I believe he is way too low for a warlock, even if he does the engineer (especially the number of shadowburn). Any tips to improve his dps ? Or is he just fine ?

I'm interested to see if there's anything I can do to push more DPS. I'm always looking to improve but I feel I've come to a crossroads where I don't know what to do to push out more damage, while at the same time I feel I can. I feel there's more potential.

Primarily looking for help with Destruction because I feel my gear isn't good enough for Affliction yet, so that's what I decided to log.

I feel as though that my numbers should be higher than they currently are as Destruction. There is another lock in the guild that does ~ 20 - 60K DPS more than I am and I would like to close that gap. I was ilvl 556 for the most of these logs and our other lock is ~ ilvl 566. I am not sure if it's a gear thing, if I am not timing my CB / SB well enough with multiple procs or what. Would 10 ilvls, with the current stat inflation, count for that much of a difference in damage?

Also, looking at my numbers in RAIDBOTS I am looking terrible in there (50% or less often). Am I getting blown out of the water there due to competing against Heroic Warforge players or what? How bad am I on here, or is it just a numbers specific to the ingest of Raidbots?

I see him over 250K on almost every fight this week in raid (the log you didn't link). He is also reforged into Crit heavy, whereas most people are going a bit heavier on the haste I believe. Also on the fights where he does really well I do see him using Fire and Brim w/ incinerates (the different looking icon in those logs). With more haste he could do even more damage probably.

I got my own problem though , and even though I wasn't sure if it belongs here, I decided to post it here anyway.
I got a question about WoL.
Does it always register Potions as "buff cast" ? Could there be a reason why it wouldn't register using a potion ?
I am asking because I was watching our yesterday's logs, and I found that most of our dps didn't use potions at all.
It was our first raid as a guild, downed 8 bosses with first run which I am pretty happy with and they seem to know what they're doing, so I just find it hard to believe, but logs are logs.

I'm the lock. (wwjdlink)(ignore the fact that i'm affli on armory, I practice/have fun with it outside of raid so when I get enough gear, I can switch to it immediatly and actually know how to play it.)

According to WoL: I used potions a total of 21 times on 19 boss tries, Waldim used 11 times, and no one else used potions at all, or so says WoL.

Can it be wrong ? no ?

EDIT: i asked them and they said they didn't use any pots indeed. guess WoL was right.
