    The tentacle thing is kinda bullshit, yes. Sounds like your main-team is kinda underleveled though. Also, that fight sucks if you don't have any goggles.

    Not too much, though, or you waste half the benefit of your espers. Still, a little bit of grinding before the river is necessary. If you're on the river and have a decent set of items, there's that little loop where you can cheese a few levels out. Banon's group heal is dead useful for it.
