From the name and the fact they showed/discussed nothing about trading, I assume this is strictly a Collectable card game, not Tradable card game. No trading would seem to be a mistake.

Perhaps you can trade cards with other players to create your own decks?
So far yes the only mentioned way of obtaining cards is purchasing them.

They mention in the FAQ that there are no plans to implement player-to-player trading
If there's one thing World of Warcraft players hate more than people who don't play, it's people that do play but not as much as them.

I re-read the FAQ http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/faq/ and I do not see any mention about trading. Is there some other FAQ?
