    DvD Burning software?

I have a couple of movies I want to burn to disc for my sister, but whenever I burn them it always tells her disc not recognised (the dvd player is a little old). I downloaded one called aimersoft dvd maker and it made it work, but sadly it leaves a watermark and I don't want to buy a full version to burn 2 movies, does anyone know of a good free one? I tried CDBurnerXP but that didn't work either.

    Many thanks.

Nero is actually pretty terrible right now, it forces you to install half a million other Nero programs...

Nero is indeed terrible now avoid it if possible; it's completely bloated and there are far better alternatives available.

We need some more info though, what type of file is the source file? Are you trying to burn a video file such as AVI, WMV etc and then make it DVD compliant so that it will work on a standard DVD player? If this is the case and you are burning as a "data" disc it will not work on most DVD players since it won't be "DVD compliant"

Depending on the type source file you will most likely need to convert it, make it DVD complaint (ie VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders containing the VOB files) then burn it on DVD so please provide some more detailed info.

See this for an example of what I am referring to.

You can't do a custom install and just get what you want? o.o

For me it's not so much which other programs are installed with it, but instead the fact that the program is so much more resource intensive then it should be, bloatware is part of it though. Nero used to be awesome back in the day when it was actually lightweight, but that's not the case anymore.

I've always either used Nero or Alcohol 120%. Between the two of those, I could usually handle just about anything (anything Nero wouldn't do, Alcohol would, or the other way around).

It's been a while since I've had to use Alcohol though. I only ever used it when Nero failed on something. I think you can get a 15-day free trial of Alcohol, so that might be worth a shot.

1st you have to convert the movies into DvD format and after you burn them. Use DvD Styler to make the DvD (you can add menus subs etc) and imgburn to burn them into DvD .

you can find them here : http://www.imgburn.com/ http://www.dvdstyler.org/en/

both of them are free .
