On topic: If imperium yielded and made kharn new emperor, a golden age would start. Of course there would be some casualities, but hey its not like they arent used to being beaten by worshippers by khorne anyway.

They totally didnt fall into cultural and technological stagnation - oh wait they did
They have no problem, keeping they borders - oh wait they do
They totally didint turned into band of religous zaelots even if this was last thing emperor wanted - oh yeah they did (fun fact, most of imperial faith is based on book written by lorgar in his loyalist times)
Golden throne is in perfect shape and there is no threat of emperor dying - oh wait there actually is !!! (another fun fact, should emperor die, they would not only loose morale and had humanity divided, they would loose ability to travel in warp as well as <this one is best> they would have uniwerse had yet another goatse carved where terra is !!! Wonderfull)
Its not like human live was devalued so much, guardsmen are worth less than they equipment - oh yes once again it did. Shooting your own people is also amazing tactic.
So yeah for the emperor. He will sure protect you. With this:

I didn't say it was a perfect victory but it sure beats sulking in the Eye of Terror for 100 centuries. The Imperium endures, humanity survies.

- chance for daemonhood
- many horny (literally) chicks to commit heresy with
- people who will respect you, and treat you as family (at least in deathguard)
- many cool historical figures to spend time with (long debates with erebus, sudoku with magnus, pillaging with kharn, and my favourite dressing in fun clothes with emperors children)
- no *HERESY* derp
- you have support of real gods
- slaanesh have boobies (and emperors not )
- you can hang out whenever you want, you dont have asshole with big hat shooting you.
- Rave parties with noise marines
- Hide and seek with alpha legion
- If you worship slaanesh hard enough you may become hot horny chick
- Living primarchs
- "Who wanna be a spawn" the best action show to live. 10 people enter, one daemon prince leaves. 9 spawns go GLAAAAAAAARGHHHH
