DotA-Style Battlegrond?

Heya,

Been wondering what happened to the DotA-style battleground, which was announced some time ago.
Last time i have heard of it was in early january with a video showing a raw version of it.

Does anyone have any infos or sth about it? was hoping to see it in 5.4 as blizzard anounced more than only one feature.

There's plenty of new features in 5.4, but GC did tweet that the dota BG was a development thing that may never become real. It's not in 5.4.

It was a data mined experiment, much like Tri spec was.

We may see it in the far off future, we may not.
